Chapter 26

Zion Pov:

Before my eyes the man who was once there was gone. One moment there the next, paste in his place. I never really liked people, but this is different. There was no 'wave of indifference' , it was real, all too real. I know I'm not human anymore, but this… I just hurt. The blood stains my eyes as my brain tries to disconnect to escape from this reality. I just caused someone to die.

Neil Pov:

Blood. So much blood. The nausea overcomes my brain as I lose myself in the past.

"Neil~ Neil! Wake uuuuup!"

I wake up nearly choking from laughter

"Hehe-haha, Oli-he- Oli stop-haha!"

Oliver finally relents, taking his hands away from my sides.

"Neil~ come onnnnnn! It's almost noonnnn. We need to get going!"

Oliver pulls my ten-year-old frame out of bed and through my grandpa's house. We exit out the back door and begin sprinting up the mountain path. My hair and clothes were a mess but I didn't care. A smile plastered our faces, my tired body slowly re-coordinated itself and I stop nearly tripping. In roughly half an hour we finally made it to our destination, a small pond in the mountain forest. Around that pond were wild mountain goats large and small. Oliver gives me a smile as we go to sit a short distance away.

Oliver then gave me a daring look as he walked over to the goats, a male walked up to him and allowed Oli to give it a h#u-g #$@&@%#^####

"Cough-hakk-cough" Laying on the bed Oliver begins to cough off blood once again. The red coating his mouth and shirt. Tears well up in my eyes, "Oli, Oli it's ok. Grandpa can help you. Grandpa will make you better."

Oli gives me a red coated smile before he starts to cough again, more red coating his form.

#$%#^##

I open my Grandpa's medicine book, I need to find #%^$*# that's the only thing we need.

I set off to the mountain. I scoured every inch of grass and herbs but I couldn't find it. I return home to find Grandpa standing outside the back door, he gives me a downcaste look and slowly shakes his head.

I drop to my knees, tears pouring from my eyes.

Found It.
