Chapter 30 (Full)

A few days later, the growing dungeon town finally completed their branch of the adventurers guild. Inside the two clerks were organizing the guild and themselves, preparing for the minor chaos of a new branch opening. Basic gear is kept in crates until the weapon and armor shop is finished, underneath the counter lay many of the necessities of the guild, paperwork, pens, first aid kits, and, most Importantly locator charms.

Locator charms are given upon joining the adventurers guild and are used to send distress signals and also keeps the integrity of adventurers in check. You don't have to carry it around but, adventurers who don't are seen as less trustworthy and more likely to die on a mission or in a dungeon, for without the charm the guild can't find you, the charms are rarely monitored but the information they give to the guild is often used to find those trapped inside dungeons or dispute or corroborate claims that an adventurer took a reward without doing the task.

With the guild branch came with the town's name; Tarla

Xand Pov:

I give a small hop from the last step, beginning our second dive. Earlier, we had been given an order from Lady Atailan to head deeper into the dungeon, to find out the reason we couldn't contact them recently. Apparently his majesty ordered information about the dungeon core, since we couldn't contact the dungeon we can't do this as easily as we would have hoped.

We continued into the dungeon fighting off more of the Automatons, roughly at the halfway point of the room we found a branch hallway that we hadn't found during our last dive.

Once we were through the small hallway the flora had noticeably densened, unlike the prior room animal trails littered paths through trees so dense that you could hardly walk a foot without running into one. The sounds of bushes rustling, bird calls, and the soft sound of metal scraping against itself filled the air. Continuing through the forest we were soon attacked by a pair of wolves, the first coming at me from behind and, if not for Shannon I'd be under its claws. The second took the opportunity wild Shan was dealing with the other to pounce on Shan hitting her in the back and tearing deep gouges in her armor. Shan threw it off and got out of the line of fire for a sec while Anders advanced and I started casting. Anders slashed his sword along the spine of the closer while I shot a bolt of lighting at the further. Der's sword made a gauge in its skin, not severing it but getting a third of the way there. Shan waited for Der to retreat a tad then slammed her shield on the gauge pushing with all her strength snapping its spine and bending the metal composing it. Meanwhile the wolf I shot was acting strange, its walking less smooth and jerkaly attacking the air in the general direction of me, though it didn't last long and it soon ran in my direction and pounced towards me. I quickly dodged away from the attack leaping to the side and quickly rolling to my feet. Shortly after Shan and Der worked together to take it down.

We continued through this room fighting off many types of animals from deer to coyotes. The exit of the forest room leads to the same hallway as the first. We made our way through the maze, took a rest, and fought off the boss but this time instead of leaving we made our way to the doors at the back of the boss chamber.
