Revelation

Me, Rose, and Do Yoon arrive back in Seoul early in the morning. Do Yoon had dropped me off at my house first since my house was near the Rose's house. As I made it back home, I felt bad for my mother because she had to take care the house by herself while I was gone. On the other hand, I definitely had to show her the nice pictures of our trip. I opened up the door, put my stuff in front of the door while taking off my shoes and putting my house slippers. The house looked pretty empty and clean. I shouted out my mother's name however there was not one word that utter back. I began to search the whole house thinking that she could be out doing other things like gardening out or relaxing out in the backyard. However, I still couldn't find her until I stumbled upon a note that was left on the kitchen counter. She left a note saying that she would staying at a close relative of ours for a month. I thought back to myself that a month would be a long time to be away, which meant that I would have to probably take on a job to pay the bills. I wasn't upset with my mother for leaving me because she needed time for herself as well.

Since my mother left, I decided to take my belongings from in front of the door and place them in my room. I was so tired that I decided to take a short nap. After my nap, I texted Rose to see if she could hook me up with a position at her job. She works at a music store right near our school, which would be of connivence. Besides, I think the job would be perfect since I really love music especially classical music. This was a good chance to get my hands on more classical music from my favorite musicians. It was a great thing that she replied shortly with an agreement to have me work at her job, so she sent her boss a recommendation. She asked me why I wanted to start working all of a sudden since I never had the indentions. I replied by saying that unfortunately my mother decided to leave and stay in a close relative of ours, so I had to find a method to pay the bills. She laughed and was content with my idea of wanting to take up a position at her job. Of course, it could only be part time, since school was a huge responsibly for me.

I was feeling hungry, so I went down into the kitchen to see what I had to eat in the fridge. I glanced around and I couldn't find anything. So, I decided to go to the store to go grocery shopping in order to make something. I caught a bus to head over to my local convenient store since I didn't really feel like going to the grocery store since it would be expensive and far. I was thinking of getting a few couple things that would feel me up in time for my job interview. As I arrived at the store, I glanced at the cashier who was busy on her phone while blowing a bubble with her gum. I really hated going to these kinds of place because of the lack of manners and customer service. I grabbed a rice ball, Gimbap, Flavored chips, and beverages. After, I walked to the cash register for the cashier to check me out. She rung up all my ideas, she said that it would be 23,900₩.

I glanced over trying to take out my wallet from my little purse until I realized that I forgot it at home. I glanced out at her in embarrassment as I had to put the items back, it felt like my card had declined. However, there was another man waiting behind me, he offered to pay for my items. He was wearing a black hoody with black skinny jeans with rips in them, his voice was really deep as it echoed into my ear. He gave the women his money as she put them in the register, put the items in a bag and handed it to him. After he paid for his things, he wanted me my belongings as he was getting ready to leave. But before I could thank him, he had already left, I wanted to see what he looked like, but he had on a black face mask on his face. After going shopping, I was walking near the coffee shop that me and Rose go too on the weekends. However, Rose was busy with her boyfriend and working that she didn't have time to hang with me. So, I was assured that I would be going there for something to drink. I didn't want to open up none of my drinks that I had bought since it was supposed to last me. In the coffee shop, I ordered an Americano since I haven't had it in a long time. Most times, Rose and I go to Gongcha for some bubble tea since it's the most refreshing after a long day of school and for her work.

After ordering, I sat at one of the tables that mostly sat two people and was busy scrolling through my social media. All of a sudden, there was a familiar person who sat in the order seat it front of me. When I had glanced up from my phone, I almost spat out my drink onto the floor and on my clothes. It was A-yeong, I didn't expect her to be at a place like this, this shop was more like Starbucks for Americans. It was more for college students to come here and drink/eat while studying. It wasn't your typical hang out spot unless you were a nerd or was serious about school. However, A-yeong, she was in the art department so there wasn't really a need for her to be hanging out at these types of spots. I had a really confused look on my face because I didn't know what she wanted me for. I could tell she wanted to see since we never interacted with each other. I even made sure to glanced over to see if her friends were here, which they were know where in sight.

"My friends are not here, if that's what you were wondering about." she said

"Oh!" I said sipping my drink

"I'll keep this short since I've no interest in being in a place like this, furthermore, I have more important things to do." she said

"What do you want then?" I asked annoyed

"I just wanted to tell you that me and Jo Woon are actually dating. And that he is thinking about breaking it off with you since he wants to make things official with me." she said

"Wait! What!" I said confused

"Jo Woon is going to break up with you because he wants to be with me. Do I have to say it louder for the whole coffee shop to hear? This is so embarrassing." she said annoyed

"Yeah, I heard. But me and Jo Woon are dating. So, how are you going to say to me that he wants to be with you? As if..."

"Mina, I don't think you're aware of your relationship with Jo Woon. Let me put it plain and simple, we have been seeing each other for a while now. He was getting tired of you and didn't know when the good time would be to break it to you. I felt sorry for you since you've been left in the dark all this time, so I felt like it would be right to tell you before he breaks it off with you." she said

"So, you think you're doing the right thing by telling me?" I asked

"Yeah! Because it's clear that he doesn't want you and if I was in your situation, I would be mad that I didn't know." she replied

"So, you don't think you're wrong for essentially stealing my boyfriend?" I asked

"Stealing? I didn't steal your boyfriend away from you, he came to me and said that he doesn't love you. I just happened to have feelings for him, and he said he would end things with you with. I didn't make it officially until he broke up with you. I'm not the type to take people's man from them." she said

When she was telling me this, my heart essentially broke inside of me. I didn't know whether to cry or be happy about this since Rose was right about Jo Woon. However, what really didn't sit right about this was not her being with him but the fact that he didn't have the courage to tell me about it. He has been feeling like this according to her and for some reason, I had got the impression that he was telling her everything - our fights. However, he didn't have the courage to talk to me about it since I thought we were doing fine. He was still acting sweet with me, and he even texted me the other day, even though I didn't respond back. I had no choice but to believe her since they were acting funny. They were never this close to each other, and he was always with her according to his classmates. I just never put two and two together since it could've been something different. I didn't want to come off as the crazy girlfriend who can't trust her boyfriend with other women. On the other hand, Rose was right about him cheating on me, but I still couldn't believe it.

"Thank you, for telling me." I said smiling

"Are you okay?" she asked

"Yeah, I'll be fine." I replied getting up from the table and leaving

After I left, I could see her in my peripheral vision as she glanced at me leaving. As I walked home, I could feel the tears start rolling down from the eyes to my cheek's. I tried my best to act tough in front of her since it was really insulting and embarrassing. As I arrived home, I quickly put my groceries into the fridge and pantry. Then, I walked upstairs to my bedroom to take a hot shower and relieve myself of the stress. I mind kept wondering endlessly on the thought of what A-yeong had told me. I didn't know what to do think about her discussing this with me. I don't know whether she was right about telling me this or she was wrong. I thought about her reasoning as she said if she was in my situation, she would want to know. However, I really didn't know if her words were really sincere or not. Which made it hard to judge was the endless fact of we were never friends or close to begin with. My mind just kept running around in circle, yet I couldn't call Rose because she would probably make fun of me or something. As I finished taking a shower, I had quickly hopped into bed ready to head to bed. This was a terrible, it sucked because this was the day after our staycation and this news ruined it. Not to mention, after the short weekend we would be having a test in business class, and I needed to be prepared. However, my mind just kept thinking about this situation.
