23: Serena Kriesz La Elsinivan

It's empty?

"Dear?"

As I startled, he looked at me confusedly.

"What... Are you doing...?" He asked. Ryann stood up and came near me.

"Er, I..." I missed the chance to explain it, because I afraid he'd get mad.

"Yeah, I forgot just how curious you could be." He snickered. And he entered inside, looked around the corner. then he invited me to come inside too.

"You're not mad?" I asked.

"Why should I? I knew how your curiosity is beyond everything." He answered. He touched the wall and it's full of dusts. I can tell just how long this room has never being used since his mother incident. And he told me to step outside.

"It's dirty here. You'll get your clothes dirty too, you know." He pushed me slowly knowing how stubborn I am to stay there.

"It's my mother's study room. She used to read book in there. She loved reading." Ryann looked at the the carve on the door.

"Whose name is that?" I looked at him nervously.

"It's mine."

The girl was playing on a swing, under a shady tree. Coupled with the gentle breeze, flying butterflies descended on nearby flowers. She's humming happily while looking around her.

"Serena!"

The voice that kept calling for her from afar has reached her.

"Mom." Then she smiled as she saw her mother came to her.

"You're so happy, I can hear to your humming from that distance you know?" Serena's mother giggled. Brushing her daughter's hair gently.

"Really? Well, I can't wait to give birth to my child." Serena rubbed her almost 4 months belly.

"Look, you're too happy. What if you're going to get sad after this?" Her mother kept teasing Serena.

"So, have you thought of a name?" She asked. Then Serena nodded while smiled brightly.

"Really? Let's hear it." Says her mother.

"It's Ryann."

That man sat on the throne proudly. His dream has became reality to take over the king status, he just had to get married and own a family. So he married a commoner girl without love. Everyone knows that the heirs are needed, because they will age and their position of work should be inherited by their heirs. But it's excluded Jade Crasdian La Elsinivan.

He'd never pass the status as a king of Elzatineos to anyone instead he'd rather being buried with that crown. So he told Serena not to get pregnant. But when Jade's father, the Great King warned him about how important an heir was, he's no longer forbid his wife to get pregnant.

Look at just how greedy he is about the throne.

She carved the baby's name on the door, it's beautifully done. She smiled while rubbing her belly.

"Mama can't wait to meet you, dear..."

Serena then went to Jade's study. Wanted to tell about the name on her mind. Instead of that, she found out something unexpected.

Jade was kissing with a woman in there, not knowing Serena saw them. She can't believe it. So she eavesdropped on them.

"Look at how happy you are now, Jade. Don't tell me that you have forgotten me." Says the woman. She touched Jade's chest.

"How would I? Look, I would have marry you if our fathers weren't enemies. And my father didn't approve of us together. That's why I have to marry a girl my father didn't know just to take over him. But I didn't stop loving you, you know." He hugged her while his hands all over her body.

"Hm, I know. You don't need to explain it. You told me before, right?" She laughed and kissed Jade.

Serena cannot do anything besides listening to them. She's not that care, but she's afraid if Jade was going to tell her to kill the baby. But fortunately he's not.

It's the day Serena gave birth to her child, and the baby was born safely.

It's been 3 years since she knew about Jade and the woman. But he didn't talk anything about it with Serena, instead he's enjoying the time together with his wife.

"Ma..." Every time Ryann called her like that, Serena would be happy to the moon. Of course, it showed just how much she loved her son.

But then one day...

"So you knew this from the start. And maybe it's you who told my father about us, right?!" Jade showed his angered face.

Now that he's been suspended by his father for ignoring the warning. Of course Jade would go berserk over the status as a king.

"N-No..., I didn't..." Serena would get scared because it's the first time Jade would raise his voice on her.

But he didn't believe to what she said anymore. Now the anger has took over his body and started to hit his wife. He's beating her with anything near him.

But then she ran to get the letter in her study. Of course Jade would chase after her. And after she took the letter, she startled as she saw how Jade's standing at the door.

"You took my throne away from me, you witch!!" Then he saw the sword that being bought for Ryann to use when he climbed his adulthood.

"Can you please just die? With that, no one can stole my power, right?" He's laughed like an insane man. He swung the sword to Serena but she ducked. And it sliced the door where Ryann's name carved on.

"Please don't kill me..." She cried heavily, but that man has gone crazy and stabbed her madly.

He left her in there while he quickly went to clean his hands and clothes.

But Serena is not dead, and she ran away. And she met her most trusted butler in that palace.

"Please, take this letter and give it to Ryann when he's adult. And please take care of him." She told her wish to the butler, but he refused to do so thinking he's not worth to take care of the prince.

"Please... At least do it for me..." Serena smiled while in fear. Then the butler nodded and took the letter.

And she ran to the garden, but Jade has found her. Then he decided not to kill her, but to hide her instead.

From afar, she looked at the butler.

And the butler bowed to her for the last time.

"I will do as you wish,

...Your Majesty."
