27: Chaos after Speech
I woke up at 7 AM. And I looked out the sliding doors that covered by transparent orange curtains.
Then I sit up, while wiping off my face, still thinking about the invitation by the king himself. Being absent without telling the reason face to face. It makes me anxious.
And moreover, the wound has bleeding again making me dizzy. Then I called for help.
To think I heard Eugene's voice near the door so I screamed his name loudly. And he rushed inside.
"General!" He held my back with his left hand while his right hand's checking the bleed.
"Does it hurt?" He asked, his right hand slowly touched my pale face.
"No... It doesn't..." I kept breathing but it felt heavy.
"I think it's because of the opened wound." Then he quickly called for Keith.
"How is she?" Asks Wayne to the personal doctor.
"She's asleep. Due to losing too much bloods, she became dizzy and wanting to throw up. But she held it in and that's why she can't move. In the end she fell asleep when we sewed the wound because of tiredness." Explains the doctor.
"Thank you very much." Eugene bowed his head. And the doctor left.
"Keith, take care of General. I'll discuss with His Majesty about the works. Get it?" Eugene looked at Keith with high hopes.
"Got it, Corporal." Then Keith entered the bedroom.
It's been 2 hour since I fell asleep. And I noticed how Eugene sleep beside me on the chair. Ah, look at him, he's tired.
And I got up, put a blanket on him. While I get ready to go down.
"You're not in a good state to move yet, you know?"
I turned to that voice. Ariel.
"Thanks for worrying? I'm not someone who would laying around even though there are too many tasks to do." I replied.
And Ariel turned silent. But his eyes still on me. I ignored him and left.

I saw the king is discussing something with his men. And I decided to listen.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"There are 300 people in front of the main gate now, they demanded on how I am going to save their children." Answers Wayne while letting out a heavy sigh.
"Save the children? From what?" I looked confused.
"Ah, it just happened this morning when one of the noble families was a traitor in our country. And they kidnapped the children as many as they could. They wanted the sacred white gem behind my throne." He said.
"A sacred white gem? Why?" I asked again.
"There's a sea dragon's scale in that gemstone. It's called White Scale." Wayne seemed exhausted after thinking about the solution.
I feel sorry for him, became a kind and generous king but with these ungrateful people.
"Father. Why not let me handle this matter?" Ariel suddenly appeared from behind Wayne. And the king looked at him, confused.
"Are you sure, dear?" Asks Wayne while smiling.
I noticed how he just called Ariel 'dear' when I knew he loves his son so much, and the face he's making right now just to cover his concern for Ariel. And why do I have such a bad feeling like someone's going to die today? But I ignored it as if it's just my only thought.
But when Ariel nodded in agreeing to what Wayne asked, that man seemed reluctant to open his mouth, like he really doesn't want his son to go there. Well, it's not like he doesn't trust Ariel but it's about he's afraid of losing someone important to him like he lost his wife.
"Alright. Then please be careful." Says Wayne while leaving, and Ariel bowed to him.
I just know what the king's thinking, so I can't bear to let him shoulder everything even if it's not my business. And I followed him to tell him something. Am I too kind or...
"Your Majesty."
He stopped walking but he didn't look at me.
"I'll go with him." Then I left. But sure I heard he begged me in whispering, like he held his emotion.
Guess I'm not kind, but an idiot.
There are many people who rebelled about their kidnapped children, even the imperial guards can't stop them. But when Ariel appeared, they became noisier. While I'm standing next to him, I looked at how he will handle this.
Seeing his calm face made me calm too.
"I've arranged the imperial military to search for them, so I hope everyone can calm down first. I know this is just making you worried but please let us handle this. Don't do anything unnecessary to save them, because the kidnappers might as well do something unexpected to the kids. And no one knows what will they do next whether they're going to attack us or anything. So I need everyone's cooperation."
Just looking at him calmly handling them, and the people are no longer rebelling. That's it, the future king of Meliztia.

And the whole people there turned silent, when saw the man ran out of nowhere tried to stab Ariel but I protected him instead.
Damn, the blood ain't stopping...
"Elicya!" The way Ariel called me made me surprised, it's been so long since someone called my name.
"General!!!" And I saw Eugene rushed towards me. While Keith caught that man and cuffed him.
Ariel carried me as I almost collapse, I think it's because I'm not recovered fully that's why I felt weak. And that's how a calm situation after the prince's speech, turned to chaos.
