Fall in Time II

"Jun, why didn't you get off the bike when you knew I was struggling?" I asked as we prepared sandwiches.

"Is that a trap question?"

"No, I'm genuinely curious."

"Alright. I was going to do that, but I thought that it would be a funnier memory to remember that we fell together."

A smile appeared on my face.

"You've changed a lot since high school," I said. "Can you say the same about me?"

He stared at me.

"No, it's not a trap question either," I added.

He chuckled. "I'd say you were more annoying in high school. You didn't care about the emotions of others at all, except for that time you stood up for me. Remember that?"

"I do. I never meddled with anyone, but I was getting tired of seeing others take advantage of you."
