My chest grew warmer the longer Sachiko and I stared at each other. My eyes wouldn't stop moving between hers and her lips as the silence became louder and everything around her disappeared.

My heart jolted when something made my thigh vibrate. It took a few seconds for me to realize it was my phone in my pocket. I tried to ask Sachiko to wait but no words would come out of my mouth. I could only lift my open hand in front of her as I grabbed my phone. Tetsuya was calling.

I placed the phone on my ear and answered. "Y… yes?"

I turned away from Sachiko. "Just tell me what you want."

"I forgot my keys inside and there's no one home. Where are you? You didn't tell me you were going out."

"I…." Sachiko and I exchanged glances but snapped away instantly. "We went out to take a walk around the city as well."

"You? Going out without planning it beforehand? And on a Sunday? And for a walk?!"
