The entire narrative of the system actually comes with a point of view, that is, from the group of wizards who sealed the "Eye."
From the perspective of this narrative, this group of wizards seems to be pure victims, discovering that they were being pursued by the Eye and then figuring out how to carve it down to end the pursuit, only to be discovered by the Eyes behind the other wizards.
But what if these wizards were not pure victims?
What if in the entire story, the "Wizards" were the proactive ones?
Indeed, the "Eye of Truth" pursued those wizards who were in search of Truth. As a result, some bold wizards wanted to capture the "Eye of Truth" that followed them.
They shared this plan with other wizards, but it was not recognized, so they decided to do it themselves.
The "Sage" in the story could refer to the collective wisdom they gathered or to some secret existence that had infiltrated their ranks, possibly both.
