"Look, it's your favorite, the strawberry rock candy skewer."
The man sitting in the driver's seat, his hand on the steering wheel, turned his head towards the passenger side window, pointing to a small shop by the street through the hazy curtain of rain.
"Focus on driving!"
Lin Chichi, with a stern face, quickly reminded.
Then she shrank her head and leaned back against the seat, looking out the car window.
The rain was getting heavier.
The hazy curtain of rain almost covered the entire window, as if submerged in water, obscuring their view inside the car.
Only through the twisted, turbulent drops could one vaguely see the blurred sights outside, spotting the old store's red sign and the straw rack beneath it brimming with skewers.
Lin Chichi leaned against the window, scrutinizing the appearance of those skewers.
The hawthorn skewers and the strawberry skewers looked similar, both red.
