THE YOUNG BILLIONAIRE'S RESULT

Chapter Six

THE YOUNG BILLIONAIRE'S RESULT

Monday Morning

Mr. Philip Miller was out of danger and recuperating in the hospital. The school was on a rampage. Lecturers and some students were seen at the gate of the University with placards and different inscriptions.

PROF. PHILIP MILLER, THE VICE-CHANCELLOR, IS A PERVERT.

HE SHOULD BE IN THE ZOO.

HE HAD WRECKED OUR NOBLE UNIVERSITY.

GIVE OUR EAGLE ITS FEATHERS BACK.

THE EAGLE MUST NOT LOSE ITS FEATHERS.

REST IN PEACE, PROF.

HOW CAN THE EAGLETS SOAR?

The Governing Board of the university had had enough embarrassment. They ordered the rampaging students to leave the gate and return to the Multipurpose Hall. The students obeyed. The road became clear for motorists to drive into the university. The traffic flow eased off too.

At the Multipurpose Hall.

The Chairman of the Governing Board Prof. James Campbell addressed the students. He did not say much, he only announced the Acting Vice-Chancellor as Prof. Clement Thompson. He was the subordinate of Prof. Philip Miller, the erstwhile Vice-Chancellor.

"Thank you so much for your understanding. I wish to announce that Prof. Clement Thompson will be the Acting Vice-Chancellor. This is a trying period for the school, with your support, we will bring back the glory of our noble university."

" Wow! That is an excellent choice."

"Yes, Prof."

"Ride on."

"Get rid of the bad eggs."

The students cheered.

Other information would be communicated to you. Thank you all for listening. You can return to your classes. The Chairman of the Governing Board wanted to redeem the image of the school – total redemption. He did not want the press to report that the students missed their lectures, not even for a minute. That was his reason for sending them back to their classes immediately.

The students were happy and they chatted among themselves.

"I'm very certain that Prof. Thompson would deliver."

"I agree too."

The gentlemen and ladies of the press took advantage of the reformation and hype the school and the Cherry Fields Oil and Gas Group with attention-grabbing headlines.

CHERRY FIELDS ADOPTED THE EAGLES CITY UNIVERSITY.

IMAGINE EAGLES CITY UNIVERSITY UNDER CHERRY FIELD

THE EAGLES HAD REJUVENATED THANKS TO THE CHERRY FIELDS

A NEW DAWN FOR THE EAGLES CITY UNIVERSITY. SAYS CHERRY FIELDS.

The Press had the characteristics of exaggerating issues out of proportion. This story was not an exemption. The results that the exaggeration yielded were apt. Everyone benefited. The Cherry Fields was gaining in the stock market. The number of students that had applied with the Eagles City University for the next academic year tripled their facilities available, but Cherry Fields Oil and Gas Group was equal to the task.

The lectures for that day were held accordingly. No time was lost. At the end of the day, Jeff and Leon returned home with their new bullet, a bulletproof car that was not attractive but solid. Mr. Morris had fished it out from the fleet of the armored cars at the Industrial Area Complex. He was being proactive since he noticed that Jeff and Leon were prone to attack. They met him in his study working. He preferred leaving the office early to receive his grandson.

"Hi, Dad."

Jeff greeted.

"Hi, Mr. Morris.

Leon greeted.

"Welcome back. I hope the lectures went well?"

"Yes, dad. As you must have known, the Governing Board had forced the despicable VC to step aside."

Jeff said as he took his seat beside him.

"Yes, that is what the Parents Forum expected of them long ago."

Mr. Morris pointed out as he stared at the center table in front of him.

"Well, it's better late than never. Let me leave you to do your work."

"It's all right."

"By the way, have you had your lunch?"

"Yes. Mr. Robert served me soup and bagels."

"That's good. But you need more fruits and veggies. I will get them right away."

"All right son."

After about twenty minutes, Jeff and Leon joined Mr. Morris in the study with a bowl of fruits and a bowl of veggies. Moments like this gave Mr. Morris unspeakable joy. The moment he thought he would never experience in his life.

Tuesday Morning.

The Governing Board and the Acting Vice-Chancellor worked round the clock. They needed to clear the mess the former VC had plunged the school into. The staff also cooperated and with that, some abnormalities were fished out and nipped in the bud. A communiqué was issued immediately.

The students got to the school as usual and met other students standing in twos and threes. The vendors were busy as they were overwhelmed by the numerous clients seeking their attention. Jeff and Leon were dumbfounded.

"Jeff, I will check the notice board while you queue up."

"It's all right, Leon. See you later."

When Leon got to the notice board stand, he was astounded because he could not even get close to the notice board. The population of the students there occupied about two kilometers radius from his spot.

"What? Who can withstand this?"

He walked back to the vendor's stand. To his dismay, Jeff was still standing at the same spot he left him.

"Let's go to the classroom. We can always come back after the first lecture."

Leon suggested. Jeff, who was already tired agreed at once.

"You are right."

They set out to walk to the class, suddenly, a masked man appeared before them with two newspapers. The students were stunned, but Leon and Jeff knew better.

"Good morning, young boss. The boss said you can have this."

"Thank you. Next time, give us a call, we can always meet you at the car park. You can leave."

"All right boss."

He greeted and took his leave with his power bike. In less than ten minutes, he was back to the industrial Area Complex.

They took a look at the papers. The front page was stunning and he was glad. At least his picture was not there.

"I will have to sit down and read this."

"You're right, Jeff. I will do the same."

They returned to their different classes bearing their paper in hand.

Jeff got into an empty hall and settled down to read his paper. The headline was of interest to him as well as every student of the Eagles City University.

FIVE STUDENTS WERE EXPELLED. NEW BEST STUDENT EMERGED

His face beamed with a smile as he read the details. Shortly, he felt a strange presence in the gallery. Before he could look up, he felt a hand grab his neck, but he was more prepared than his assailants. He gave him an elbow kick and he staggered. He stood up, positioned himself for battle before the strange figure at the gallery could jump down, but he never did, rather, the attacker he gave an elbow kick had fled. His security guard showed up at once.

"Young Master, don't bother, we have taken care of them."

"Who are they?"

"I don't think they are students. They were more than two anyway."

"Good job. Thank you."

"You're welcome, Young Master."

Before the school security who heard gunshots arrived, Jeff's security guards had disappeared. They met Jeff reading peacefully, but he jolted when he remembered Leon. He picked his stuff and headed towards his class. Fortunately, he met him walking towards him at the verandah of his class with smiles, and he breathed easy.

"Congratulations, Jeff. You made it."

Jeff covered up all his anxieties and smiled too.

"Thank you, Leon."

At that time, his phone began to buzz with calls and messages alert from his family members and friends.

Ding!

(Congratulations, son. I'm proud of you).

His mom was not left out.

(Congratulations son, I know you will make me proud).

His sister, Jewel, congratulated him too.

(Big bro. Keep up the good work. I'm proud to be your kid sister).

He lifted his face and looked at Leon who was watching him as he read his messages and smiled.

"Messages from Jewel and my parents."

"Oh! Jewel. You just have to control the sound of your phone. I will leave now."

He said as he began to walk back to his class. Jeff walked along with him too.

"Yes. You're right. I will leave too. I'm going back to my class."

"All right. See you later."
