Jade looked to her right and left. She didn't see anyone in the hallway of her apartment. She sighed and then handed the car keys to Max.

"Drive. We'll talk in the car," Jade said, then went ahead.

His presence took Jade by surprise. And her heart was beating fast because she didn't expect her boyfriend to meet her directly in front of her apartment.

She started to think, did Shane leave because he knew Max was going to meet her? And she didn't even know why she had so easily asked Max to drive her to campus.
