There was nothing wrong with trying to come home.
That was what Jade thought when a week after her identity was exposed by her father, she had not heard anything from him.
She began to think and began to feel worried. Even though she knew the situation at home was fine, seeing it directly with her eyes is the best way.
Unaccompanied by Shane, Jade drove her car. Her heart was pounding as she got closer to the house. Her throat tightened and she tried to swallow her saliva several times.
When she got home, all she saw was silence. The terrace of the house that used to be lit, was now dim. Jade started to get worried when she sensed that no one was inside.
"KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK!"
Jade knocked on her door and there was no answer after a long knock. Finally, she took out her spare key and tried to open the door of her house.
"It's open!" she hissed, because normally if someone was inside, the key would always stick to the lock housing itself.
