Feeding Them a Sleeping Drug Part 1

"Mom, how can we get near the young duke? Erella is always with him wherever they go," Audrey grumbled to her mother in the courtyard while enviously looking at Erella and Max who were happily talking to each other in the garden. Baroness Paisley didn't say anything and just narrowed her eyes.

It was already been four days passed and their plans all failed. When her daughters tried to get near Max, they were just being treated like air because Max's eyes were always with Erella. Then, her daughters made an effort to get his attention by wearing a sexy gown but all they got was a cold shoulder. They even tried to make a conversation with him by talking about Erella but he only answered them with a cold shoulder or only the nod of his head. Her daughters lost patience for the outcome they got from the young duke so they targeted Erella to ease their irritation. Graciella and Audrey scolded Erella for making a minor mistake when she accidentally dirtied her dress when the tea fell. But that was the biggest mistake they did. Max and the Von Heinlein knights glared at them with a murderous look. They thought that was the last day of their life because the atmosphere turned sinistrous. But it went back to normal when Erella's stomach grumbled. Erella brushed them aside and hid her face because of the embarrassment. The knights and the young duke suddenly grabbed the food and the drink on the table and offered them to Erella.

Paisley's attention snapped back to present when her daughter spoke.

"Audrey is right! We can't carry out our plan if that tramp keeps on sticking to him for a week." Graciella said crossly.

"Remember mom, We don't have much money. We almost use the money that's intended for Erella for our luxuries." Audrey reminded her mother. Baroness Paisley didn't say anything. She just looked in front of her unemotionally.

Her daughter was right, the money that they were spending lavishly was actually for Erella. Her parents left for her when they died. But they were the ones who were using it. Erella didn't know that her parents left her a hefty sum of money. And she didn't know that they kicked out all the servants in the Astley estate so they can use her money freely.

"Then we still get servants for that tramp. How can I buy my new uniform on the new school term?" Audrey added feeling annoyed. They didn't like to get servants because they thought if they have servants their money will run out fast. So they let Erella work for them so they can save money and ease their jealousy towards her.

"Don't worry girls. This plan that I have will make you the wife of the young duke and the captain of their knight." Baroness Paisley said smirking.

"So you just need to prepare yourselves later." She added.

"Very well mom!" Graciella and Audrey answered at the same time.

"I really don't understand why the young duke would prefer Erella than us. Look at her talking to her disgusting little friends. She is weird and at the same time, she looks like a 10-year-old kid! We are better than her!" Audrey said with her right eyebrow up while crossing her arms on her chest.

"It's only for now dears. Later he will not have any choice but to choose you. So let them enjoy themselves for now." Baroness Paisley assured them and told them to go inside the manor to prepare their selves for the later plan. The two ladies followed their mother's instructions and went inside the manor. They could still hear the indistinct voice of the little mouse. But they just ignore it and prepare their plan.

In the garden.....

"Erella! Erella! Tell me more about how you defeated the bandits in the forest!" Tubby the mouse said excitedly to Erella.

They were in the garden having their picnic. Erella brought her little friends to Max to introduce them to him. At first, she was afraid to let them meet him because he might think of her as a weird girl talking to mice. But her little friends made her realize something.

'Why will I be afraid? Max will be my fiance, he needs to accept everything about me. If not, then he is not the man I'm looking for even though he is my ideal man.' Erella thought.

Then she stopped pretending to be a pure-hearted girl. She told Max what is really her attitude. She said to him that she's good if the person is good to her, but she will retaliate to the person ten times if the person will do something bad to her. Max was just quiet after hearing it from her. She thought Max will be disappointed in her. Even though she already accepted that Max won't like her after hearing what she said, she still felt pain in her heart. But her face shone brightly when she heard what Max said.

"I know but I still like you!" Max said smiling. He knew that Erella was not really like an angel. She just looked like one. But still, he likes her to be his family. Especially a younger sister. Erella almost believed that he likes her like a man likes a woman. She was already having butterflies in her stomach but it went down on the drain when he messed her hair like a kid.

'DARN IT! He still treats me like a kid! She screamed internally. She went back to the present when her little friends spoke.

"I want to hear it too!"Eddy and Suzy said in unison. Erella smiled at them and told them the story.

In the evening before the dinner starts, Graciella and Audrey coincidentally walked together with Erella in the hallway.

"Hmph! You're so ugly!" Audrey said with a smug on her face. Erella stopped and looked at her indifferently.

'Gosh! These ladies have the nerves to say I'm ugly! Look at their faces.' Erella thought. Graciella and Audrey had beautiful bodies but you couldn't say the same thing about their faces. Because their noses were big and they also have freckles on their faces.

"TSK! Sorry sis, I am not a mirror." She replied and walked again.

"Wh-what did you say?" Audrey said with a confused look. She didn't understand what Erella meant.

"Geez! I'm not your mirror so don't look at me!" Erella said then smiled crazily. It took a couple of minutes before the two ladies understood Erella. They fume in furious. They wanted to slap Erella but they controlled their selves.

"Leave her, it will be our last laugh later," Graciella said to her younger sister Audrey. Audrey reluctantly agreed and follow Graciella.

Baroness Paisley was already at the dining table waiting for them. After a few minutes, the young duke and the captain of the knights came in. Max looked for Erella immediately. When he found her, he smiled and sit beside her. The servants brought and served the food right away when the young duke came in. And as usual, the young duke fed Erella sometimes. They almost ate all the food on the table when suddenly the captain knight's head fell on the table. Then the next was Max.

"MAX!" Erella cried out.
