"I would like to thank you for giving a thought on investing in our company" Said Advika with a pleased and professional tone at the same time that everyone knew she meant only business but also grateful for thinking about it.

"Well... We wanted allies for our company and also to increase our business and connections. Also, it's best to invest in a company which is growing rapidly in the market under the new CEO right?" I said with a straight face but anyone can see the sarcasm under it.

For a second I saw the anger in her eyes but it's gone like a wind in the next second making me convinced that it might be my illusion but I know better than that. She is Advika and I know her facial expressions and her reactions very well to think of it as an illusion. But it satisfied me to know that I am getting under her skin. "It's always the rumors Mr. Grover. But the fact is that I am just expanding the business which my mother started with her passion." She said with the same tone as I used it a moment before to answer me back. But I can see the fondness for her mother in her eyes which made me smile a little bit knowing how much she loves her mother and how much she misses her.

"I agree with you on that Ms. Laghari. Rumors play a major role in our industry but I believe that there is always a little truth to the rumor to start somewhere. Don't you think?" I asked with a playful tone of mine that she gave a forced smile of hers while nodding her head in agreement.

"You are right i think" She said while looking at my face with no emotion in them but i can see her inner turmoil which is fighting to show some emotion on the face. I have to give credit to her for her acting skills.

I can see from the corner of my eyes that Mag and Kashvi are enjoying our little banter while the rest of them were looking at us with confused faces not knowing what to do or what is happening in front of them.

She was lost somewhere before she came out of her thinking and took a breath which most of them didn't notice because she is an expert in hiding it. She cleared her throat while getting up from her seat before speaking to us.

"So.. Since you are willing to invest in our company, we would like to give a brief view about the plans and projects about it before you decide on it. Shall we?" She asked looking at us with an emotionless face showing that she meant only business. I too composed myself before nodding my head for her to continue.

"Praneel, can you please give me the file about the hotel project?" She asked, looking at him with a cold look.

"Ms. Laghari..." called Magnus while looking at her to which she glanced in his direction waiting for him to finish his sentence. "We would like to invest in schools. Not hotels" He stated looking at her reaction to which she looked at us with surprise.

I know that we will receive this reaction because that's what we wanted. If we want to be one of the important investors in her company then we need to find the thing which will make us important. And in this case it is her schools. Before she took over the company it was only the group of hotels which were very famous. But after she became the CEO, she slowly started investing in one school after a year and now there are five schools in total after four years.

But still most of the investors are not ready to invest in schools because it's new and somewhat different. Also the fact that the CEO is very new to this kind of business and most of them think that she won't be able to handle it. So we thought of taking that chance now by getting close to this company.

"Schools?" She asked after a moment with the surprised tone in her voice that I internally smirked knowing that we got what we are hoping for.

"Yes." He confirmed.

"But... I mean are you sure? Because not many investors show interest in that" She asked looking at us with anticipation to confirm whether she had listened to us correctly or not.

"Yes Ms. Laghari. We would like to invest in schools." I said while looking at her with a straight face by confirming her suspicions.

"Ok then. Bring me that file Praneel" She ordered with a nod while checking some files on the laptop.

Once Praneel started the projector, she started to explain about the schools and the way they started. Even how they designed it to look different than the other schools. We got to know that there are two types of schools here. One is for everyone like any other schools and the other is only for the poor people where they don't need to pay money but can come to study. In total of five schools, three are for normal kids while the other two are for the poor. Even they have given the facility of hostels for each school with a food facility. The interior of the schools is mostly the same with slight changes in it which is cozy and homely. But what attracted me more towards the project is that the type of education they are giving.

Every week there will be three classes inside the class other three classes are outside the class in the playground for each subject. The teachers need to teach them on the ground using any equipment or any natural thing for the students to understand. Also, all the teachers are below 35 years of age itself so that they can be active and quite aware of this generation's technologies and news.

This used to be her dream when we were in college. She always used to complain about our education system and how it needs to change. But i didn't think that one day she would achieve it. Now I got why this meant very important to her.

It really spiked our interest in her project that I made up my mind to invest in it. Not because of our investigation or anything but to really help those children and her dream.

After that we had gone through the deal when i finalised that I am interested in investing in it. She agreed that we will be meeting another day to sign the deal but I told her that I would like to see the schools in person before signing the deal. She said that she will let us know the date to visit the schools with her secretary.

While coming out I shook my hand with Kashvi with a smile on my face. I wanted to hug her but stopped myself because of many reasons so instead I just did that. I can see that even she too wanted to do the same but unable to do it.

Well, I even shook my hands with Advika while leaving but didn't forget to look deep into her eyes to see what has changed in these past years so much for her to behave like this. But I got nothing there. It was just empty with no emotion in it and in that moment I realised that she totally wanted to disconnect with us. It hurt but I covered it with a nod and got out with others.

She really had gone for the best I think. But then why am I looking for the past Advika in her? I have many questions but none of them have the answers to it and most importantly we have a case in our hands to deal with than to think about the past which won't become present now.

I took a deep breath to make up my mind and concentrated on the case.

Everything went according to the plan and we got to know the things which were just our imagination until now. Now we need to plan for our next step.

"Yes. The girl from your college right? What about her?" She asked with a confused look on her face that I sighed before telling her.

"I met her today," I said while closing my eyes and thinking about her from today morning. It felt like ages when I saw her today.

"What?" She said with a look of shock on her face that I got up and sat in front of her by holding her hands in mine.

"Yes baby. We went to her company today to make a business proposal, but what I didn't know was that she is the CEO of that company. What even surprised me most was her behaviour though. She was acting like she didn't know any one of us before. She totally avoided that topic and gave a look of complete business." I said with a defeated tone because, truth to say is that I was very hurt from her behaviour today. I didn't expect her reaction to be that cold and emotionless towards me.

"Look at me baby" She said with a soft voice that I lifted my head to look at her face. "It's ok Hred. We don't know what kind of situations she had faced in her life for her to change like this. Everything happens for a reason. So don't think about it that much." She said while placing her palms on either side of my face and looking into my eyes with a warm smile on her face.

"Maybe even she was so surprised to see you after all these years or she was going through alot at the moment. We really don't know what made her to be like this and she might be scared or something. Maybe that's why she used her defense mechanism to avoid feeling any emotion. Also, there might be a chance that she really wants to avoid you all for good. It's her decision to make and if she really wants that then you need to respect her decision. So just give her some time and hopefully everything will be fine." She explained to me like a mother explains to her child. I was thinking about each and every word she said just now and the actions of Advika from earlier. And I came to only one conclusion at the end.

Maybe she is right. And I definitely need to forget about her. If she doesn't want me in her life then who am I to force her. It's better this way and I definitely cannot make Anu worry because of it.
