Chapter 26: Underestimation

Skysin Rillem-

After the speech had finished, Principal Zynsim announced to all the students, "classes will officially start tomorrow morning. So, you'll have the rest of today to do whatever you want. Thank you."

All the kids flooded out the auditorium, just when me and Elaine were about to accompany Nirvana, the other three ranks spoke to us. "Hi, my name is Delilah Ophrey. I'm not a noble though, I'm from a common family." Delilah stuck out her hand, shaking mine and Elaine's.

"It's nice to meet you Delilah." I said with a smile.

The black-haired boy approached Elaine, "hello princess, my name is Razon Stilt of the noble Stilt family. You look absolutely stunning… care to take a walk around the city with me?" He asked attempting to make a charming grin.

Elaine smiled shaking his hand, "it's a pleasure to meet you, but I'll have to decline. I'll be walking around with my friends this afternoon. Thank you for the invitation though." She motioned her hand, showing me standing beside her.

Razon looked at me with a bitter face before turning around and walking away.

"Probably pissed his bed before coming here." I hissed with an irritated expression as the girls giggled from my comment.

Next, was the fifth rank with seaweed hair. "H-hey princess Elaine, Skysin…it's been a while, hasn't it?" He fretfully asked scratching his head. I observed the muscular boy; his voice sounded familiar, but I couldn't figure whose.

Elaine set her hand over her mouth, "Rolland?? You look so much different from before." She exclaimed, surprised by the built fellow.

"Tubby? You changed a lot over the past years." I chuckled finally recognizing him.

Elaine pulled my ear, "be respectful, Skysin." She growled. I anxiously nodded, bearing the pain as her cinnamon eyes glared onto me.

"Haha, yeah… I just wanted to apologize about what happened. I made myself look like a real idiot." Rolland said with a timid smile.

I shook my head, "no hard feelings, good to see you. You've gotten stronger since before too." I happily stated, Elaine nodded agreeing with me.

"I've been working out pretty hard to lose the weight. If it's fine… could we start over? Let bygones be bygones?" Rolland asked extending his arm for a handshake. I jumped wrapping my arm around his neck with a bright smile, "of course… I have no problem with that. Let's start this year off fresh."

Elaine shook his hand, "good to see your doing fine Rolland."

Subsequently, Nirvana came to us holding Tenko in her arms. "M-Ms. Hyuseff, i-it's nice to meet you, you look beautiful today… no most of the time-uh-all the time." Rolland became fidgety and brightly blushed bowing to her. "Skysin, Elaine, I'll see you two sometime." He quickly rotated from us and dashed away, leaving a hazy trail of smoke behind him.

"Hahaha, that was weird… But anyways, let's go in Vaim city. I'm sure Crim's waiting out front." Nirvana chuckled sitting Tenko down.

"We'll see you later Delilah," Elaine waved her goodbye as we parted ways.

We traveled through the hall of the building to exit the front door. When we opened it, Crim was on the left of us, chatting with a few sophomore girls. He wore the standard uniform; his crimson hair had gotten longer, falling down past his neck too. Beige skin, and grey-colored eyes with the same red pigments on the outer edges of them. Plus, his ears were pierced with black diamond studs, along with a platinum ring on his finger for sophomores.

Crim noticed us and finished his conversation with the girls. "Hey guy's, are you enjoying the school so far?" Crim hugged Elaine, gave me a high five and patted Tenko's head.

"Yeah… at first, I thought I was going to hate it, but it actually doesn't seem too bad." I stated gazing at the large campus.

"Haha, that's what I thought at first too. Let's go into the city. The food there is delicious, and the scenery is better." Crim insisted. We all nodded and headed out, walking into the bustling city filled with both civilians and students alike.

"Crim? What were those girls talking to you about?" Nirvana calmly questioned him with a threatening smile.

"Umm-nothing really haha. They asked about the explosion that happened about a month ago in the coliseum."

Me and Tenko looked at each other, "uhh-that was me, hehehe." I laughed nervously as the others turned around with dull expressions.

"I can't say I'm surprised," Elaine sighed shrugging her shoulders.

"Professor Blaine looked like he seen a monster when me and Crim went over there," Nirvana chuckled.

While we continued to stroll around, there was a long black bench in front of a clothing store that we decided to take a seat at.

"Oh, there's a pastry shop right around the corner"-Nirvana turned to Elaine- "Elaine, let's get some for us really quick. You two stay here and save the spots." Nirvana demanded grabbing Elaine's hand and walked around the block.

While me, Crim and Tenko sat at the bench, "hm, that clothing store looks pretty cool, want to see if there's anything?" Crim asked pointing at customers teeming the shop.

"Yeah sure, why not? Mom said I needed more 'casual' clothes anyway." I sardonically said, remembering her nagging me about mostly having clothes to run and fight in.

We stood and advanced to the clear glass doors.

Suddenly, two other students crossed our path, causing Crim's shoulder to collide with one of them. The boy turned around with an aggravated expression. Short blonde hair, blue eyes and wore a silver necklace. His features and height deemed him to be a year or two older than us. So he's probably a third year more than likely.

Along with his friend that had tamed black hair and dark brown eyes.

"You should watch where you're goin- oh, if it isn't the first rank of sophomores, Crim Magmastiem."-He chuckled- "Don't think your all big and tough cause you're a first rank, kid."

"Oh, I apologize -d idn't mean to make you jealous, I'm sure you'll get higher in ranks eventually."-Crim tilted his head- "Umm…what's your name?" He asked in an unconcerned tone.

I noticed a small vein become perceivable on the boy's forehead as he made a strained smile. "It's Aiden…Aiden Brent - first son of the noble Brent family, remember it you bum." Aiden sneered getting irritated by Crim's attitude.

"Oh… mm-hmm? Yeah, never heard of you or your family. Must be falling down the hierarchy…" Crim jested shaking his head.

A crowd began to form around us as people watched the argument transpire. Aiden became furious, "then how about I help you remember my name, you ignorant duchess boy." Aiden clinched his fist and shrouded it in aura.

"Try me." Crim chuckled with a cold smile, entering Aiden's personal space. Unexpectedly, a translucent barrier appeared, sheltering me, Tenko, Crim, and the two boys.

Then, Aiden threw a punch right at Crim's face. Just when it was about to connect, Crim grasped his fist and countered, shooting a jab onto Aiden's gut.

Aiden wobbled back clenching his stomach, and looked up, showing a face coated in arrant anger.

He charged at Crim, hurling multiple punches left and right while Crim continued swiftly avoid them. As Crim continued to make the boy struggle, Aiden quickly formed an earth glove on his hands. He dashed and lowered himself, going for an uppercut. Crim placed his hands in his pockets and lifted his leg, setting his foot above Aiden's fist, sending him a few meters in air.

"Now! Shoot him down Damien!!" Aiden shouted.

The black-haired boy nodded and created a shock of crackling lighting, directed to Crim while he was airborne.

In that short span of time, I created a purple portal in front of Crim, making the lightning enter. Then materialized another beside the boys on their right, shocking them both.

Just when Crim landed, I stood beside him, "well if your friend is going to join, why don't I step in too." I spoke, cracking my knuckles.

The crowd noticed my portal, flabbergasted that I had spatial kinetics. "Holy-crap! He has spatial kinetics?!"

"I heard its super rare."

"I think he's General Rellgis' son."

Damien erected back to his feet, "damn you… little brat - how dare you disrespect the Jutom family's power!" He shouted in rage, encasing his hands in multiple strings of white lightning.

He aimed his hands, firing a quantity of bolts towards me, all while Aiden continued to fight a struggling battle against Crim. I leapt, flipped, bobbed, and weaved all the speeding shocks without a sweat, watching them hit the large barrier behind.

"I think your lightning's lacking speed," I quipped shaking my head. In a blur, I surfaced in front of Damien, punching his gut and kicked his chest, sending him to the ground.

Unexpectedly, a blistering shock of electricity appeared in front of Damien. Out of nowhere, a huge brown boar that was nearly my height with large, white tusks stood before me, coated in lightning.

"The hell-where'd this pig come from?" I pondered, bewildered by its random emergence.

"My nexus Boran, he's a lightning boar… when he senses I'm in trouble, he can teleport to me."-Damien smirked pointing his finger towards me- "Now, Boran attack!!" He ordered with spite standing once more.

Boran sheathed itself in crepitated lightning and viciously squealed storming to me. However, shards of ice shot past me, hitting the boar's face, causing it to fall back.

'Finally, some action! I wanna see how strong I've gotten!' Tenko shouted excitedly, standing alongside me. The edges of his fur covered in teal-colored aura and snowflake like orbs, floating stilly around him.

I made a grim smile, "looks like your little plan failed"-I pointed at the boar- "Tenko, kick the pig's ass."

Tenko nodded, while I lunged at Damien punching his face, Tenko coated his tail in crystal ice, striking the boar as it tried to fight back.

All at once, as I shot another punch striking Damien's chin, sending him back. Crim jumped in the air rotating his body, following through with a kick onto Aiden's temple, casting him into Damien. When the two collided into each other hitting the ground, Tenko shot a blast of cold gales and ice, projecting the boar into Damien's stomach.

After defeating our opponents, the barrier diminished. Me and Crim shot a fist pump with proud grins. Even the crowd applauded us, amazed by the fight.

"Skysin, Crim, what happened??" Nirvana and Elaine appeared walking through the crowd, holding five wooden cups of pastries. Crim glanced at the three on the ground. Just as he attempted to reply, a fierce, powerful presence was felt. The crowd released a frightful echo of whispers and bowed, uneased by whoever was radiating this atmosphere.

We all gazed where the boys were, viewing a woman wearing a white blazer uniform, the same as Nirvana's. Which somehow went greatly with her slim, developed figure. She had lengthy, straightened glacial blue hair, and parted bangs that draped past her chin onto her small shoulders. A fair skin of smoothen vanilla. Memorizing lime-green eyes, brimming with intensity. Along with two platinum rings… however, the other had the symbol of a sword.

"What's going on here?" She asked in an austere tone.

Hastily, the boys shot to their feet with the boar. Aiden pointed at us, "those two started it, Lady Aire!! We were simply walking and the two started yelling and attacking us out of nowhere ma'am." Aiden shouted, frantically gesturing his hands like an idiot.

Crim clicked his tongue, "tch, that's a fat lie - I accidently hit his shoulder with mine, so he wanted to argue. Then he had the audacity to attack me. His dumb friend over there tried to join too. Until my friend Skysin helped me out with his nexus Tenko."

Lady Aire glared at the surrounding crowd, "is this true?" The witnesses nodded nervously, filled with fear as she asked in a calm, yet baleful tone.

Aire turned back to the boys, "so be it, since it's not against the rules to duel, however… students are not allowed to fight out of school grounds. I'm sure you were informed about this, correct?" She queried the two lifting a brow.

They hesitantly nodded with disappointment on their faces.

"You two will be suspended for a month. Maybe this will help you learn your lesson as upper classmen at this school. Try to be more mature, would you?" She waved the two and crowd away.

'This school is just filled with wonderful ladies, isn't it?' Tenko fondly asked, goggling Lady Aire walking towards us.

"H-hello Lady Aire, I'm sorry for my friend's actions. And Skysin is only a freshman, so he hasn't learnt the rules yet." Nirvana bowed as Aire stood before us.

"It's fine, Ms. Hyuseff. They were merely protecting their selves." Lady Aire waved her hand dismissing it.

Aire's green eyes looked over to Elaine, "Princess Valorrey, it's nice to see your growing well." her and Elaine both nodded to each other as she greeted her. "And Crim… please try to at least fight on school grounds...or wait for the tournament in a few months." She added.

"Yes ma'am." He slightly bowed, then went to grab a pastry from Nirvana.

I tried to quietly walk away, carefully tiptoeing from her. "Mm-mm… excuse me, but could you stay for a minute?" Aire asked.

'Dammit,' I cursed to myself, forcing a smile as I faced her. "Yess...?" I questioned apprehensively.

Aire glanced at my ring, "I see that you're the first ranked for freshman. I heard about the explosion that took place at the coliseum." She stated observing me, her green eyes shifting up-and-down. I did notice that she wasn't that tall from me though, maybe around five foot-two at least.

I chortled scratching the back of my head, "hahaha, yeah. I didn't think it would cause that much of a ruckus."

Aire remained with the same expressionless face, "you seem to be very talented Skysin. But I must say… it's quite an honor to meet the son of General Rellgis himself. My name is Urza Aire, I'm a senior and student body president of seniors and juniors. Also first ranked and princess of the second planets kingdom, Aries." She said extending her arm.

I gently clasped her velvety hand, "it's a pleasure to meet you princess Urza. You can just call me Sin though." When I introduced myself, something began to rapidly blink right above her chest near her emblem. "The pleasures all mine, Sin."-Urza's pink lips curved into a smile- "Please excuse me… I have some matters to discuss." She bowed and walked away.

'Dammit, I forgot to ask her about that sword ring.' I cursed in my head joining my friends.

Urza Aire-

While I walked down the street thronged with people. I pressed on the glowing vestige above my chest.

'Hello? Urza, did you take care of the fight that happened?'

Vestiges were created by powerful, ancient beings called Promethians millions of years ago. There are many kinds of these objects that have different properties of usage. This specific one is called a 'Telepather', which gave people the ability to communicate telepathically.

'Yes principal Zynsim, I took care of it… two seniors were engaged in a fight against a sophomore and freshman. Crim Magmastiem and Skysin Rillem.'

'I see, were any civilians harmed during this battle?'

'No sir, the barrier gems worked just as they're supposed to. But those two boys are quite strong for their young age. Especially General Rellgis's son, Skysin… his nexus is powerful as well. Those seniors were at least sixteen and placed in the top ten ranks as well. Crim and Skysin held their own against them without a problem. It's quite amazing.'

'Indeed, those boys will be something great if they continue to move forward. But in another case, I'm sure we'll win the school tournament without a problem in the next few months.' The principal chuckled. 'But thank you, I'll be going off now. I have tons of paperwork unfortunately.' Zynsim turned off the device with a panicked voice.

While I resumed sauntering down the street, I thought to myself looking above the amazing art of stars that gleamed beautifully in the night sky. 'Skysin Rillem…this year will surely be a very interesting one.'
