Chapter 40: Awaiting Future

Skysin Rillem-

The school day had passed strikingly fast, maybe because of my excitement. Fighting against another person who mastered the Braideferm technique, Cyrus Greldin. Surprisingly, he's also that lazy man's nephew, Master Alzar. Who would've known?

Currently walking down the halls of this massive campus, my friends Rolland and Elaine were by my side – including Tenko of course. Who now uses my head as a bed for whatever purpose? But since the snow-colored Reynard is light as a feather, it doesn't irritate me.

But still, the eyes of students remained on me. It's quite vexing, yet I can't exactly blame them for my own actions, nonetheless. While we resumed a relaxed pace, walking down the packed halls, a group of sophomore girls, slowly moved towards me, obstructing our path.

"Uhh-umm… Hi Skysin." A girl with light brown hair and black eyes in the group of three spoke in a soft tone. Her body slightly fidgeting.

"Hey,"- I smiled- "Is there a problem?" I asked, noticing her odd movements. Deeming to be a bit nervous. Her eyes staring at the ground, or verting to either side of myself, but not at me exactly.

Hysterically, she shook her head, "n-no, not at all…"

One of her friends patted her shoulder with a light chuckle. Then, she focused her eyes on me, showing more confidence. "I-I just wanted to say that - I'm happy you're doing fine…" She said in a higher tone, her face blushing in red.

I grinned, causing her to flourish more, "thank you, I appreciate it a lot." I nodded at her two friends and carried on, advancing through the hall.

"Tch."

However, I heard Elaine suck her teeth from aggravation. I turned my head, viewing her withholding a pouting face as her cinnamon eyes leered onto me. I must say though, I found her anger to be quite charming. Although I won't test her patience, or she may end up like Cleo. That girl already threatened me once, and I'm positive Cleo wasn't joking either. I have a feeling she'll murder me – if something natural doesn't in this lifetime.

Digesting her mood, I chuckled and gently clasped her soft hand. Hence, her entire mood changed, Elaine's face was mantled in rose with a wriggled smile. Yet, she tightened her grip and kept with me while we all walked along the halls. Then, we caught the eyes of basically everyone.

"Woah… the princess and Skysin are a couple?!"

"I wish I was Elaine right now."

"Skysin's pretty hot."

"Bro? He's a dude?!"

"So?"

Finally exiting the building, we caught sight of Razon and Delilah on the right. The two turned, and approached us, "hey guys… Sin, are you really going to spar against Cyrus Greldin?" Delilah asked.

"Yep!"

Rolland sat his hand on my shoulder, "good luck with that. He's the first ranked in hand-to-hand. And second rank in vital for seniors too. I think he's right under Lady Aire when it comes to that."

"All the more to do so." I chuckled shrugging my shoulders.

"Must you always stir something up, Sin?" Elaine pondered, prodding my forehead with her index, lifting a brow.

In response to that, I sat my hands on her cheeks, which caused her to blush. Then, I softly headbutted her. "Not exactly, but it seems fun. It's not every day a senior asks you to challenge them. Plus, he's master's nephew, so why not?"

Delilah tilted her head, "who's your master?"

Instead of me replying, Elaine spoke up, "Alzar Greldin." She answered with a smile. All three of them were riveted by her answer, their eyes gleaming in awe, "wait?!"-Rolland shook his head- "The. Alzar Greldin? General Alzar Greldin??!" When Rolland asked, Razon shoved him out of the way, "what's he like??"

Elaine and I looked at each other with a light chortle, reminiscing about Alzar's slothful attitude. "Well… let's just say he doesn't get much sleep."-I lifted my index- "But other than that, he's a great fighter - one of the best I've ever met."

"Coool…"

I chuckled, "maybe you guys can meet him someday… if he's not sleep that is…" I spoke making a dull expression, thinking about his laziness. "But, let's get to the coliseum, I don't wanna keep Cyrus waiting."

They all nodded, and we traversed through the gigantic campus. Making way over to the coliseum.

*****

Approaching the glass doors of this humongous arena, there were tons of students, freshman, all to seniors alike. From the profusion of all these kids, it seemed as if the entire school was present. Which made me conclude that news about me and Cyrus' battle had reached the ears of others. But at such a short time…it's surely shocking how fast it spreads.

Advancing, all the kids eyes shifted onto us, or me… some tugging on each other's shoulders, discreetly whispering. While others simply spoke aloud.

"Holy shit… he's really gonna fight him."

"Who do you think is gonna win?"

"I dunno man… but those girls are pretty hot, especially the princess."

"Dude…their at least twelve…"

"Well damn…"

The crowd of kids steadily moved out the way, basically conjuring a makeshift path for us to easily progress. Pulling on the silver handle and opening the door. We all entered, only to yet again, come across more students thronging the lobby floor as well. Resuming our walk onward, I caught a glimpse of Urza Aire. Standing directly where the three halls connect.

'Just look at that view…' Tenko spoke in my head with astonishment.

With her facing the opposite direction from us. I - a young boy gradually growing into a man, I can't lie…the view behind is certainly a splendid one. Her straightened, glacial-blue hair, flowing right above her ample, heart-shaped bott– Then she turned around… 'dammit…' I murmured in my thoughts.

Urza's sharpened, yet beautiful lime-green eyes shifted onto me, her rosy lips possessing a small smile. "Hello Sin."–She slightly bowed- "I'm surprised you're going to fight against Cyrus."

"Hey Urza."-I chuckled bowing as well- "And yes, I figured why not? It wouldn't hurt right?"

She nodded, returning to her ice-queen like expression, "I suppose you're right, Sin. After all, I'm the one who'll be overlooking the match, so the professors and principals won't have a problem."

Just as Urza turned around, she rotated her head, her lengthy hair trailing behind every movement she made. "Oh yes, Cyrus is already on the stage… I insist you prepare for your battle, Sin."

"Right." I looked over my shoulder to my friends, "I'm gonna get ready now, I'll see you guys in a bit."

As they all nodded and moved forward, Razon lightly punch my arm, "try not to get your ass kicked 'too' much." He chuckled advancing.

Elaine positioned herself in front of me, "I won't tell Aunt Val, so you're safe…" She reassured setting her hands on her slim waist. Which was one of the few things I was fearing for, if mom found out – pretty sure she'd teleport here, hellbent on beating me…

I smiled and patted her head, "thanks Laine, I promise I'll buy you some food sometime."

Elaine's face mantled in red, her cinnamon eyes shifted to the ground, clasping her hands while fidgeting, "you-you promise, Sin?"

"Hahaha, of course Laine."

Elaine showed a pretty smile and nodded, "ok!"-She extended her arms towards the artic fox on my head- "Come on Tenko."

The fox sounded a naughty laugh as he leapt into her slender arms. All while Elaine rotated, innocently giggling to herself as she entered the hall on her left.

When she left, Urza spoke, "if you're here to watch the match, take your seats, now!" Her silvery voice resonated through the entire lobby. Startling all the students. But they listened to her directions, either making a right, or left in the halls. Walking to their seating's.

As the kids made their way out, I decided to go ahead and enter the changing rooms. Attiring myself in alternative clothes for physical activities – a navy-blue shirt and grey trousers with black sandals. Which also happened to be a couple sizes larger than me – I exited the room and espied Urza on my right. Waiting patiently for my preparation.

She looked over to my direction, "are you fully prepared now?"

Approaching her, I smiled and nodded. Then, she advanced with me trailing behind her. While we walked through the spacious hall, I perceived something light falling onto the ground. Then suddenly, my palm smacked a surface, extremely soft, and plump.

"Eee!!" Urza vaguely squealed.

I promptly looked down, only to see Urza's magnificent, shapely bottom smitten my eyes. Her slim body was bent forward, having her luscious rear before me. She hastily fixed her posture, stiffly standing up-right. Urza turned around, possessing a face that is certainly new to the eye. Keeping an embarrassed expression as her cheeks were beet red, her lips anxiously wriggling like a worm.

I apprehensively chuckled, scratching the back of my head, "hahaha, sorry about that Urza…"

I steadily moved away from her, already imagining my demise. However, she returned to her unconcerned expression, still brimming in rose. She rolled her eyes and huffed, resuming her walk towards the light ahead.

Passing through the entrance, the white stage further ahead from us. I could hear all the spectator's boisterous cheers as we ascended the stairs. When we did, Cyrus was centered in the arena. Maintaining a calm expression, his hazel eyes revealed nothing but exhilaration.

Positioning myself a few meters from him. Urza stood on the far right in the middle. As she lifted her hand, everyone grew silent. Her voice became thunderous, all while keeping a calm tone, "this battle will go on for three minutes. Also, whoever is knocked off the stage, or is unable to fight will be deemed the winner!"- Urza eyed both me and Cyrus- "Are you two ready?"

We nodded, keeping a smile filled with unbridled adrenaline.

Urza lifted her hand, "begin!"

When she worded this, I utilized my aura, flowing it into my back. Then, we both lunged right towards each other, simultaneously throwing a heavy fist…

Nirvana Hyuseff-

*Knock Knock Knock*

'Where could Sin be?' I contemplated to myself, standing before Skysin's dorm room. Number 45. After finally recovering, I've been so busy with my duties as a student body president. Such as coming up with events for the Promethius tournament, and dealing with problems of the sophomores and freshman.

Although, when I fully healed, I tend to place my palm on the area of my stomach where I was stabbed. Feeling that fear, walking on thin ice near death's door. It was a dreadful feeling - a horrifying experience. I couldn't function well until dad and my friends were there to comfort me.

Plus, with dad being a duke, he already announced that after Dane was fully recovered. He'd be put into prison for attempted murder.

After me and my friend Diana failed to find Skysin - who's also a sophomore apart of the student body – we decided to take our leave from boy's dorm.

While we walked throughout the campus, "who's dorm were we at Vana?" Diana pondered.

Diana is a slender girl, a few inches taller than my height. Long blonde hair, tied into a side-ponytail on the left of her head, flowing past her small shoulder. Light brown eyes, pink lips, and milky skin.

As Diana's question entered my ears, I thought back to Sin. His wrathful state, something I've never witnessed before, even if I knew him for five years. "It's my friend Skysin's dorm. Although he's more of a younger brother to me." I replied, carefully observing my surroundings. Hoping to spot him either flirting with any girls, fighting Tenko or Crim, maybe even Elaine pouting.

Diana's brown eyes lit with a sparkle of interest, "the cute freshman boy that looks like a girl? He's back?"

I chuckled from her question, if Sin was here, he would've gotten irritated and argued. I smiled, "hahaha, yes, the boy who looks like a girl. He arrived earlier today, but I was so busy with other things I couldn't see him…" I responded as my voice trailed off. A bit saddened I couldn't see him.

Coincidentally, a group of students dashed passed us, running to the humongous coliseum on our right. Diana sat her hands on her waist, "what's going on?"

I shrugged my shoulders, "not sure, let's go take a look." I answered, quickly walking to the glass doors of the arena.

As we opened the doors, we came to hear intense cheers of student's excitement resounding through the lobby. Without a word, Diana and I walked through the hall on our left and ascended the stairs to the seating's. When we did, our eyes met a grand abundance of children, all yelling for two individual's names.

"COME ON SKYSIN!!!"

"Don't lose to that freshman Cyrus!!"

"MY MALERENZ… I didn't think Skysin was this good at hand-to-hand!"

"HELLLL YEAHHH!!!"

I hastily looked to my left, and I couldn't help but let a smile grow on my face. Skysin and Cyrus battling it out on the stage.

"Nirvana! Over here!" Elaine's soft voice called out.

I looked over my shoulder, seeing her with Tenko laying on her lap. Along with Crim, Delilah, Razon, and Rolland by her side, enjoying the fight. When me and Diana joined them, Razon and Rolland scooted over, making space for us to sit. Then, I spectated the wonderful battle.

As Skysin threw a lightning-fast punch toward Cyrus' face, he quickly bobbed his head to the left dodging it. Cyrus briskly lowered himself, rotating his body and sweeping his leg at Sin's ankle, causing his balance to falter.

When Skysin staggered forward, Cyrus shot an elbow at his chest. But Sin managed to catch himself and weaved the attack. Next, Sin slightly leapt off the ground, performing a devastating roundhouse kick at Cyrus' neck.

Cyrus lifted his left arm, blocking the attack as it created a chaotic shockwave, causing the ground under to crack and break from sheer force. Then, Cyrus counters, swinging his hand out, transforming into an uppercut. In that moment, Sin raised his chin, narrowly evading the attack as it barely grazed him. But Cyrus immediately follows through with another blow, palming Sin's stomach casting him back a few meters.

As Skysin fixed himself airborne, he executed a backflip, swiftly landing onto the white stage. All the students roared with ferocious cheers, so loud, it seemed that even the entire city of Vaim could hear them.

"hehehe, so Skysin's a cutie? And he's strong, what a great combination." Diana chuckled goggling Sin as he stood before Cyrus.

Subsequently, I noticed Elaine huff from her words, still rubbing Tenko's fluffy fur. While Crim chortled from Elaine's agitated expression, I patted her head with a light chuckle, "hahaha, don't worry about it Laine."

At that time, Sin became a blur, lunging towards Cyrus, firing a right hook on his stomach. As it landed, Cyrus endured the pain and seized a hold on Sin's arm. Then, he released another elbow, smiting Sin's jaw.

Skysin stumbled, but still shot a side kick at Cyrus. However, he flawlessly circumvented pass his attack and performed a finishing combo. Cyrus left hooked Sin's gut, quickly revolved behind Sin and kneed his back, then rotated his body like a whirlpool, landing an elbow on his sternum. Casting Skysin off the stage and crashing onto the green grass below.

There was a fusion of happiness, and disappointment between the crowd.

"Aww dammit… I lost one hundred ruphes because of this…"

"F*CK YEAHH CYRUS!!!"

"Skysin still did pretty good going against the first rank in hand-to-hand."

"Man, I'm glad Cyrus attends this school…"

When kids decided to take their leave, I utilized my wind kinetics and flew over to Skysin. As I landed onto the ground and he stood, I ran to him and gave him a grand hug. Firmly wrapping my arms around his chest with a bright smile.

Sin chuckled and did the same, "I'm happy you're doing fine Vana. Sorry I wasn't there when you recovered."

"No, I'm sorry Sin…I shouldn't have let my guard down in the first place."

Sin patted my head, "don't be, I let my anger get the best of me."

After we removed ourselves from each other and our friends approached us. "I had a good time Sin; I can see why your one of my lazy uncle's disciples." Cyrus admitted as he rolled his arm.

Urza joined as well, "yes, it was an entertaining fight indeed. Great work Sin."

Skysin smiled and bowed, "thank you, I appreciate it." When Skysin stood and eyed Urza, she quickly withdrew her face from him. However, I caught a glimpse of rose on her cheeks.

Urza slightly bowed and spoke, "w-well I'll be taking my leave now…" She hurriedly walked off in a stiff manner.

Everyone looked at her with a questionable expression. She's usually so calm and possesses an impassive face. It absolutely bewildered me to witness her so…flustered.

"Well Sin, I'll see you sometime. Please, let me know whenever you want to spar again." Cyrus said exiting the arena as well.

"Of course."

However, my mind was still wrapped around how Urza reacted to Sin. I looked at the pretty boy and poked his cheek, "hey… did something happen with you and Urza?"

Sin's violet eyes shifted onto me, keeping a poised expression as he shook his head, "not at all…strong woman."

I scowled from his words and grasped his ear, pulling him to our friends.

"Ow-ow-ow! I'm sorry stron-Nirvana! Please, let me go…" Skysin whimpered as I yanked him over with me.

"No."

*****

After Skysin had washed and changed back into his normal uniform. We all decided to go in the cafeteria for a little bit, just to grab some food and converse.

When we all took a seat, Crim spoke, "are you guys gonna enter Promethius tournament in a few months?" He pondered picking up a fork.

Before the four could speak, Skysin was the first, "yeah, Principal Zynsim asked me too."

"That's great."-I smiled- "Me and Crim were in last year's tournament too. He came in first place while I was placed in third."

"Who came in second? If you don't mind me asking?" Razon wondered wiping the edges of his mouth with a napkin.

Instead of me answering, Crim did, "the first Princess of Gremis, Devail. She sure is a heavy-hitter though…" He warily stated rubbing his chin.

"Man, I can't wait for the tournament." Skysin cheered throwing Tenko a strip of beef. "I'm gonna kick some ass!"

"I wonder how strong the other students at the academies are?" Delilah asked scratching her cheek.

I chuckled, "Dunno… but I'm sure all of you will do great."

They all nodded from my response.

But I could only conjecture myself to what it'll be like in the future, when we all graduate. To see how we'll all grow, Crim, Elaine, Skysin, everyone. Including myself. I can't wait for such a thing, thrilled for what's to come…
