Chapter 46: Fallen Bloom Part 3

Skysin Rillem-

A total of four students left. Two girls, and two boys. From the looks of it, the female students had decided to fight against the single male. All while the other had disappeared in plain sight. He must have some type of invisibility kinetics.

As for the other, the boy shrouded himself in crackling lightning, then took a step, quickly moving behind a girl wielding a sickle. When he did, he lifted his arms, veering his short blade towards her neck. The girl briskly bobbed her brown head, dodging the attack, and conjured a pillar of water around her.

Pushing him back, the boy leapt away from her. As he landed on the stage, the other lifted her arm, firing multiple spears of earth. Just as he fixed himself, preparing to block them, the girl with a sickle lunged towards him, about to bisect him.

Post-haste, the boy raised one of his short swords, blocking the sickle, seized her arm, kneed her stomach, and held her in place. Using her own body to block the spears of earth. Each one piercing her as she wailed in pain, spewing blood onto the stage and the boy.

I couldn't help but grimace from the bloodied scene, closing my eyes as my ears still discerned her agonizing cries. Until her rigid voice started to gradually decrease in volume.

After he threw the corpse to his side, he coated himself in lightning once more, darting to the girl. As he closed the distance at a fast rate, the girl sheltered herself in armor of earth from the white stage. When her fist and his blade came into contact, a large ring reverberated while a small shockwave took place.

When the girl grasped his arm, the boy sheathed himself in flames, causing her to loosen her grip. After he escaped, he shot multiple slashes and thrusts, trying to damage her. However, the armor was perfectly protecting her from harm.

With the boy's next attack being vertical, as the weapon swung down towards the girl's helmet. She side-stepped to the right, then made another earth spear shoot from the ground, into the kidney of the boy.

He shouted in pain, backing off while pulling it out of him. But the girl created a wall behind him, blocking the boy off. Getting trapped, the girl hurdled to him and grabbed his face, slamming the back of his head through the earthen barrier.

When he fell, the girl made a blade protrude from her armor, transfixing his heart, killing him.

Just as the girl stood straight backing away, the other boy reappeared, clutching onto a gladius sword above his head, preparing to strike. But just as his arms swung down, "DING-DING-DING!! The battles over kiddies!" Nitanz' voice yelled in excitement.

The boy came to a halt, both him and the girl staring at a large, lavender sphere gleaming before them. Nitanz appeared, keeping a smile plastered on her face.

Although I couldn't hear them, their actions spoke to me clear as day. Both dropping to their knees, clasping their hands as they shuddered relentlessly.

Nitanz merely shook her head, her watermelon eyes looking down onto the boy. When she did, she lifted her hand, notifying a soldier. The bloke made fire swivel around his arm, discharging a flame arrow, piercing the boys head.

The girl flinched as his body had fell to the ground. Just as Nitanz was about to inform the other, the girl hastily stood and swung her blade at Nitanz.

However, the blade only fazed through Nitanz, as if she was smoke.

'What the hell?? Was it her kinetics? Or is she just that fast??' I hurriedly asked myself, appalled by what she executed.

The girl shrieked after her plan failed and darted away from Nitanz. But when she had gotten to the stage, she came to a halt, standing still. Blood had trailed from the corners of her mouth, then she fell to the ground.

"W-Wh-What happened to her??" Delilah hesitantly questioned, her voice trembling as each word was spoken.

Nitanz stared at the girls' body for a second, then she turned to my side of the arena. Accurately, her keen eyes were staring me down, still withholding a sadistic smile.

Causing my own mentality to quake in terror, as if a thin piece of paper was crumbled into a ball. My fear making my grip tighten onto Elaine, only hoping she wont attack her, or me. Especially when I'm in this weakened state.

Yet instead, her smile grew wider, her tongue poking from her lips, and slowly licking them.

Causing me to be utterly bewildered by her actions, 'this woman…is crazy…' I muttered in my thoughts.

Nitanz released her murderous pressure again, quieting everyone. She sighed, "…I'm very bored now."—Nitanz raised her arm, and the lavender barrier began to decrease in size— "You may all run away and return to your mommy's and daddy's – or whatever special family you have."

As she steadily rose in the air, "oh yes… I forgot. Try not to die." Nitanz uttered, pointing at me.

I recoiled from her action, backing away. But when she did, the burning sensation had disappeared from my chest, and my powers were slowly returning. 'What the hell did she do? What was inside of me?' I contemplated to myself.

Nitanz showed a playful smile, waving goodbye as her body luminesced in lavender. Then she vanished, not leaving a trace behind.

Although my powers were returning, my head was still wrapped around from what happened. Then Crim came back into my head. Denial is what I felt, I refused to believe he did this to me… to Elaine, Nirvana, everyone. We're basically family. Which caused my head to pound horribly.

"Look at the sky!!" Rolland shouted pointing towards the clouds.

Everyone raised their heads, staring above. Coming to see blackened smoke hover over the stadium, hearing faint screams, noises of rubble plummeting, and countless explosions.

When people seen this, one person had stood. Following suit, so did everyone else, running to the nearest exit halls, shouting and yelling in dismay. All while the professors attempted to aid kids who were trampled over, and help people retreat.

"Dammit-Dammit-Dammit!! This is nothing but shit!!!" Razon had finally snapped, vigorously scratching his head. Then, Shantae had hugged him, trying to help him relax, although it wasn't really helping.

"We need to get out of here, now." I demanded, catching my friend's attention. I looked down onto Elaine, still covering her ears. I softly clasped her cheeks, making my eyes stare directly at hers. "Elaine… listen, we have to get out of here." I spoke in a calm voice, yet my body still shivered despite that.

Elaine bit the bottom of her lips as faint trails of tears ran down her face, fretfully nodding. I rubbed her head, trying to make a confident smile, "we'll get out of here Elaine…I promise."

Then, just as I was about to call Tenko once more. 'SIN!! Can you hear me?!!' Tenko shouted in my head.

'Thank Malerenz you're ok…' I sighed in relief. 'Where are you? How bad is it outside?'

'Its…pretty bad…' Tenko responded, his chirpy voice tinged with startlement. 'And I'm with Urza and Cyrus, we're in the campus helping other students and professors.'

'Ok, we'll be out there. Just be safe.'

'Right!'

After we all stood, I turned to my friends, "I'm feeling better now, we have to stick together and get through this."

They all warily nodded, keeping a face of doubt. But with all honesty, I felt the same. I've never been apart of a war, only simple battles… this is something I've never experienced until now, sadly. But I can't falter, we must get out of here alive, I need to get Elaine home…

"A-Alright Sin…what's the plan?" Delilah asked.

"Well, first thing is…I need to get Tenko. Plus, I still don't know where Nirvana and Crim are."

"Getting through the exit might take too long…"—Razon eyed the crowd of students flooding the exit halls— "All the kids are trying to escape that way."

"I can make a hole in the coliseum for us to escape." Rolland volunteered.

"That'll work." I replied with a nod.

Rolland rotated facing the seats, when he raised his arms, a large hole began to expand. Making a tunnel through the coliseum, I caught a glimpse of light while it reached to the outside ground in a slanted angle.

I held Elaine's hand and moved forward, "let's go." I spoke walking down the steep tunnel as the others trailed behind.

Getting out, we came to meet nothing but chaos. The buildings in campus were destroyed, almost near to rubble. The vertical row of trees with pink leaves had been set aflame.

Suddenly, while a group of soldiers were chasing a pair of students through the entranceway towards the doors. The tree's branches began to budge and fidget wildly. Next, the flaming limbs of the trees, shot towards the soldiers at blinding speed. Transpiercing their armor and bodies, into the ground, holding them still.

As the pair of kids stared at the corpses of men, "get out of here, now!!" Urza's demanding voice resounded though the air. Urza landed in front of them, along with Cyrus and Tenko by her side.

The two bowed, and rotated, running out to Vaim City, amidst in destruction, just like Series Academy.

'Tenko!' I called out as we ran to the three. Tenko quickly turned around and leapt into my arms. While I was rubbing him, Urza and Cyrus faced us, "it's nice to see your all fine." Urza stated, her eyes adhesive to our surroundings.

"Same to you guys," I responded. "Have you seen Nirvana or Crim by any chance?"

"No, we haven't." Cyrus answered. "They might've escaped to the Central Building. It's basically the strongpoint for our military at the moment."

"It should only be a block away from us. But the enemy forces are going to be troublesome." Razon spoke, holding onto Shantae's hand.

"Yeah, but we don't have a choice. We gotta get out of here." I added, pointing at Vaim City. "And I need to be sure Nirvana and Crim made it over there."

"Right, let's get moving then." Urza remarked.

We all nodded, and moved out, entering Vaim City.

*****

The ringing and clanking of weapons colliding into each other, sounded throughout the area. Screams of both adults and children were like phantoms, soaring in the air. Buildings beaten down, coated in flames that blazed with animosity. Of course, the corpses of civilians, splayed all over the red-covered ground.

A feeling of nausea bellowed in my stomach, the unpleasant smell of thick iron, smiting my nose.

Attempting to be discreet, we crept along the sides of buildings, and ran through alley ways. Trying our hardest to not be discovered. Taking another left, we came across an opening.

However, what was only waiting for us were enemy soldiers. All clutching onto their weapons, standing next to large beasts.

"We got a group of kids guys!!"

"Let's see who'll get the first kill!!"

The soldiers cheered with maliciousness, brandishing their weapons as their rapid beasts viciously growled.

"Dammit, get ready!!" Urza shouted, raising her diamond claymore to the air.

As we all lowered our posture, I tried utilizing my vital, coating myself in a thin shred of chilled aura. I'm still not at full strength now. But this should be enough for me to handle military soldiers.

I created a small portal on my left, pulling out my blackened, diamond-like cutlass. I noticed Elaine in her fighting posture as well, regardless of the vague shudders I distinguished from her.

Shantae, Delilah, and Elaine all raised their hands, firing a barrage of crescent winds, bullets of water, and explosive spheres of plasma.

As the soldiers sheltered their selves in elements, blocking the attack. We all charged towards them, while we did, I sheathed my hand in a hue of violet, and with a swipe of my arm…

[Dimensional Wave]

A purple, crescent ripple had trailed from my hand, speeding towards our foes at unimaginable speeds. Slicing through a few without any noticeable damage. As the men looked at their selves, they came to discover a thin line in their torso. Then they were bisected, falling to their knees as the upper half of their body fell to the side.

However, just when we were about to enter striking distance, a line of flames became perceptible, shooting through one of the enemies' chest, traveling to us.

"Crazy bastards!!" I yelled, wrapping my right arm around Elaine's waist, heaving her over to me. But when I did, I heard someone wince in pain.

Elaine screamed holding her hand out, "DELILAH!! SHANTAE!!"

Promptly rotating my neck, I came to see a hole in Shantae's heart, while another was embedded in Delilah's stomach…

"NO!!!" Razon shouted, running to the two.

With our positions being spread apart, the soldiers used this as an opportunity, stampeding to us.

Cyrus quickly covered his body in an armor of earth, running his fists across two of the soldiers, knocking them back. He rotated, creating an earth wall between our injured friends and enemies.

Rolland conjured a giant earth golem. Ravaging the soldiers as it stomped its feet onto them. He pressed a button on his uniform, making a broad sword appear in his hands. As a soldier swung his weapon at him, Rolland parried the attack, and sliced the man's legs off, then stabbed his chest.

Urza, Tenko, and I pushed the remaining three. Urza coated her claymore in magma, swinging her blade through a man's torso.

Tenko jumped onto my head and leapt into the air, shooting shards of crystal ice into a man's head.

As the last conjured multiple tentacles of water, I lifted my finger…

[Wisper]

I fired an abundance of purple beams, shooting through the man's body as he fell back onto the ground.

After we defeated our enemies, we ran back to our friends. Both were lying on the road, blood encasing the ground under. "Shantae…say something?! Please??!" Razon yelled as he held her in his arms. But she wasn't answering…it was too late.

Elaine: holding onto Delilah, was pressing her hand against her wound, using her telekinesis to keep blood in her. "Do we have any supplements??" Elaine briskly asked.

"No…I'm completely out…" Urza responded.

"It's not too late!! Shantae can be saved!!" Razon stood, desperately shouting.

We all looked at Shantae, not noticing any movement from her, knowing that she had already passed.

Cyrus walked to Razon, and punched his face, "what the hell is wrong with you?! I understand that your worried, but we could've all died when you broke formation!"

"What do you mea- "Guys! There's more!!" Rolland yelled, pointing behind us. Showing more enemies, all pushing to our positions.

We all readied ourselves, preparing for another attack. 'Dammit, if only I had more of my power…' I cursed to myself, standing in front of Elaine as Tenko moved to my side.

When the enemies closed the interval, in the blink of an eye, tempests of glacial winds appeared, freezing all the soldiers in one fell swoop. Cracking and breaking into fragments of ice.

At that time, a certain man landed in front of us. "Un-Uncle Rellgis?!!" Elaine happily shouted yet surprised by his appearance.

More Valorrey soldiers all showed up from behind us, clutching onto their weapons, wearing blue armor with a golden 'V' emblem on their chests.

Dad's yellow eyes looked at me, then shifted onto Delilah and Shantae. "Some of my soldiers will teleport you kids back to the Central Building, it's down the road. You need to get out of here, now."

A couple of soldiers ran to Razon, Shantae, and Delilah, pressing their hands on their shoulders. Then teleported, going to the Central Building.

While they left, others had stayed, "I'm sorry General, but I can't leave my school behind." Urza uttered walking forward to him.

"No. You all have to leave. I told your families that I'd get you all back home and would be responsible if something happened to you. Go back." Dad responded.

Reluctantly, they nodded, walking back with more soldiers, and teleported away.

"I'm not leaving. What if Nirvana and Crim are still here?" I stated, looking at him directly in the eyes.

"If Sin's not leaving, then I'm n-not either." Elaine fearfully added.

Dad rubbed her head, "no, you are Sin. And I already promised Audrey you'd get back home Elaine. You need to leave."

"Come on Dad! I want to help, I need to find my friends!" I quickly rebuked. "Nirvana's already in Valorrey, she's safe. I'll look for Crim. You can stay, but you're only defending the Central Building, you're not allowed to fight in the front lines." Dad critically demanded.

Elaine grasped my arm, her cinnamon eyes filled with terror, "S-Sin, come back with me, I don't wanna lose you…" I smiled and embraced her, pulling her close to me, "I promise, I'll be back Elaine."

Elaine hesitantly nodded and sat her hands on my face, pressing her soft lips against my forehead, "please be safe, ok?" She turned around and walked to a soldier, disappearing.

Just as I was about to leave, two people had landed on the ground before us. Crim, and another adult man. Long crimson hair, tied into a low ponytail. Sharp grey eyes and beige skin, wearing a fully black military-eques uniform. A platinum cross pined to his chest, and a red sheathe, latched to his waist.

"Crim?! You're ok!!" I shouted in relief.

Dad grabbed the back of my collar, pulling me behind him. Speaking in a grim tone, "H-How are you alive, Sedreen?"
