Bad reputation

Claire walked into her compound quietly in order not to wake anyone up, she went straight upstairs, to her apartment, she removed her gown, took her bath and went to sleep, she was so tired that she could not prepare a meal for herself.

Claire woke up by the sound of her buzzing phone, she jolted before picking the phone to know was calling her, it was Em. She washed her face and went downstairs to meet Em

"When did you come back?" Asked Em, she was leaning on her front door with her arms folded at her chest "early hours, approximately 3:00am" Claire replied "how did it go?" "It went well, it was a birthday party, a wealthy man's birthday" "well lucky you, at least your boss takes you out unlike mine that is so wicked as the devil himself" "well, you just have to try to learn how he does his things, what about Myles? is he still asleep?" "Yes, he is inside" Claire entered inside and gently carried her son upstairs to their apartment.

When Myles woke up, he took his bath and ate breakfast "mom, I'm part of the school's football team and we are to practice today, is that fine with you?" "When are you supposed to go for the practice?" "10:00 mom, Ray is also part of the school's football team that means I can go with him, right?" "Okay, just be careful" Claire said and kissed his forehead.

Jeff sat in the garden reading a magazine, he loved gardens so much that he could spend the whole day there, he dropped his magazine and carried the glass of wine which was on the table and sipped a little of it, he dropped it back on the table, he was actually worried, he leaned his head on the chair, looking up in the sky, he started imagining things, he picked up the magazine with his right hand and the wine with the order, he twirled the glass of wine while trying to read the magazine, suddenly a voice echoed

"What makes the boss' boss think so much?" Asked Jeff's mother named Judith, Jeff breathed in deeply before saying

"Many things mom, family, business, life in general"

"What is wrong with your family, I mean you got Kate and I"

"What about dad, he is a bad reputation to me, I never seen any father as heartless as him, mom could you believe that Benja called me this morning to tell me that he is going to bankrupt my company if we go on the promo we are planning on"

"Chief Benjamin loves you, he cares about you and your sister despite everything he is doing recently"

"Mom can you hear yourself speak? Can I ask you a very important question, did chief Benja charm you?"

"No he didn't, every parent loves their child so dearly no matter how wicked the person seem to be, their is a spot in your father's heart that cares about his family"

"Hmm, mom you never cease to surprise me, even after your divorce with him, you still support him? how did you fall in love with that son of a bitch?"

"First of all that man is your biological father, nothing changes that, not even your hatred for him , I met your father …"

"Mom please refer to him as chief Benja" Jeff cut her off, Judith shook her head in disappointment

"I met chief Benja at my high school, we attended the same high school, went the the same college and to crown it all we went to the same university, Benja then was a very charming man, if he ever talked to you back then, then you are a lucky person, every girl wanted him so badly, he had numerous girlfriends but his story changed when he met me at first it wasn't easy to win my heart but gradually I began to crush on him, Ben as he was called those days was so patient enough to wait for me, finally I gave in, we started our relationship, it was very sweet and very lovely, he spoilt me with lots of things, his father was a very rich man but one thing I loved about Benja was that he started his business at a very young age he didn't want to depend on his father's wealth and I think that trait passed to you. Every girl was jealous about my relationship with Benja, little did I know I was going to hell, when Benja proposed to me, of course my answer was a yes, after all we had spent together I had no cause to say no, my mother asked me to give it some time in order for us to learn each other better but Benja and I refused, we felt we were madly in love with each other. Finally we got married, Jeff you need to see my marriage ceremony, it was the talk of the town, I spent a whole year in Singapore, China, London, South Africa, Canada, New York, Brazil, Hong Kong, Asia and South Korea, I went to live life, in fact the greatest year of my life was my honeymoon year. Suddenly Benja started to have affairs outside the marriage, he no longer regard me, he made me a slave or rather a prisoner in our house, I had no friends, I had no job, the only job I had was to satisfy his needs, I felt worthless, on the outside he made us look as if we were in love but on the inside was a disaster. The final straw that beat the camels back was the day I was pregnant with my third child, Benja just came back from nowhere in the middle of the night, I tried figuring out where he was coming from but he took a champagne bottle and broke it on me, he pushed me to the wall and beat the hell out of me, I fainted, I was rushed to a hospital, my parents finally got to know about the whole happening, they made me file a divorce for him, Benjamin refused to sign the divorce papers because he didn't want to share half of his properties with me, I agreed that I was not going leaving with a dime of his money but only on the condition he gave me my children, he also agreed and up till date, your father and I had never spoken"

"Mom, there is this lady I think I am having feeling for, she works under me, her name is Claire, she is actually a single mom"
