Alexander turned his head, shifting his weight to the balls of his feet in case he had to run. He saw a cat-like creature staring at, giving a deep growl as its yellow-brown fur stood up on end. It looked sleek, but even from here could see the lines of refined muscle shifting underneath its coat. Pressed to the ground and ready to ready to pounce, Alexander found himself slowly shifting his feet. 


He didn’t know how strong it was, but he didn’t want to find out. Outrunning it conventionally seemed out of the question too. After all, he was utterly incapable of catching up to the grassland ridgeback. So what were the odds he could out this agile beast?
