The woman contestant embraced herself as the Queen took the center stage.
"Pass me their names." The Queen asked Carson. Carson did as asked and soon Queen smirked seeing it with amusement.
"I hereby declare the final 2 contestants of this round. Cairo Deker, and… Vivian Mosby. Now, before this round begins, I am sure the audience would love to know more about them"? Queen Vera asked.
"Yes"!
"Yaaa"!
"Tell us"!
The audience cheered. The Queen rang the attention bell and proceeded. "I shall declare a break in the event. I want my royal dressers to give these two as luxurious get up as they can and prepare them for an interview. My personal Maid, Selene will be the interviewer" she declared.
With that everyone was dismissed for the time being and with the help of royal guards the two of them were taken to two different rooms for the glow up. The man, Cairo Deker, was dressed in a suit which accentuated the shoulder of the man.
On the other hand, Vivian was dressed in a satin Gown, that outlined her curves perfectly.
As the interview took place, oddly the viewers and enthusiasm was more in the case of Vivian than Cairo. A woman trying to be with the Queen, who wouldn't be curious.
After the interview with Cairo, it was Vivian's turn. "Welcome miss, Vivian Mosby".
"Dr." Vivian spoke in a deeper than usual voice. It wasn't masculine per say, but it did have a seductive charm.
"I am sorry?"
"Dr. I am Dr. Vivian Mosby. I blend with the humans in disguise of curing them. Gives me easy access to all the blood I ever want." Dr. Vivian Mosby shrugged.
"I see." Selene nodded. "Looks like you are quite resourceful".
"That I am." Nodded Vivian.
"Now, lemme ask you the burning question everyone in our audience has been dying to ask." Selene began. "This contest was supposed to be for a king, how come you participated?'' she asked.
"Can a woman not fight for that position?" Vivian asked curtly.
"Of course one can." Selene chuckled nervously. For a split second she felt similar vibes coming off of Vivian as Queen Guinevere had. "But what I intended to ask was,'' how come you want this position? What is your motto?"
"I suppose it's the same as every other contestant here." Vivian declared.
"To take the throne"?
"To wed the Queen." Vivian declared. From the other end of the stadium, as the Queen made her way to the podium, Vera heard the words spoken by Vivian.
Of course. The beauty the Queen had was enough to charm a woman as well. Not that the Queen ever had any interest in gaining the affections of a woman, or returning them for that purpose. But if she were to disqualify Vivian now, not only would she receive backlash from her entire people (not that she minded that. She was scary enough to shut everyone up) but she will be left without a King. A century of loneliness was starting to bother her. Perhaps a woman wouldn't be so bad. Men were idiots anyways.
"May I ask what is in the Queen that you find so charming"? Selene asked.
The Queen, still quite far away from the crowd, focused on the upcoming answer.
"Everything." Vivian Declared. "She has been my inspiration ever since I was a kid."
"You mean metaphorically?"
"Of course. I wasn't a literal kid when I used to be a human. Or else I would forever remain a toddler." Vivian jokes, earning a round of soft laughter from the crowd.
"And how long have you been a Vampire"?
"For a few decades now". After a pause Dr. Vivian added, "I am relatively young."
"So, the Queen is the woman of your dreams"? Selene asked.
"Indeed." Vivian agreed. "I am willing to do anything to make her mine, anything but going against her wishes of course". She declared.
"Will, keeping that spirit in kind, I wish you good luck for the final round". Selene nodded.
The Queen finally arrived at the podium and she stared at Vivian for a moment. The satin lilac gown had completely changed her appearance from earlier. The long silver blonde hair that accentuated her ocean blue eyes were finally free from bandage of the hair bands and rubber clips. The Queen couldn't help but marvel at her beauty for a moment.
With a deep breath the Queen finally looked away. "We will begin the next round shortly." She declared and with that Vivian was taken away for the last outfit change for the day.
Once they returned, they were stripped of all the weapons one could find before the combat began.
Their movements were quick and swift, but the Vampire eyes of the crowd could trace them without fail. After a while the crowd could tell that Cairo missed each and every swing taken at Vivian and meanwhile Vivian didn't miss a single shot. It was like watching a lioness play with her prey and with that, Vivian went for the final strike where she ripped out the heart of the Man in front of her. The body of Cairo shook in the ground for a while as the soil below him tainted with blood. But soon, Cairo laid there lifeless next to which the plucked throbbing heart dropped with a thus.
Somehow The Queen was in awe of Vivian. Even if Vampires were cruel by nature, no one could be this cruel and yet be totally unaffected by it. It was definitely fascinating to the Queen. She facetiously pondered upon the fate of Dr. Vivian's patients.
"My Queen". Vivian walked to the front and bowed down with one knee on the ground.
The nature of submission was enthralling to the Queen. But giving this woman the title of king didn't seem right. Traditionally a king was supposed to be a stronger one, the one who held more power. Sure a male can have that title per say, but giving that title to another woman? Would definitely make her seem inferior. She can flip the titles and call herself Queen, but Guinevere preferred to be called the Queen.
After much thought, Queen Guinevere Sylvester rose from her throne and spoke, "You have performed splendidly, my young lady. Unfortunately, I can't allow you to be the King". She declared, earning a gasp from the audience.
Vivian appeared much blue upon hearing that. "However, you can be my bride if you want."
"As long as you will have me by your side, I do not care for the title". Dr. Vivian replied humbly, bowing a bit further.
"It's settled then. I now pronounce Dr. Vivian Mosby as my bride. We shall wed at the crack of dawn." She declared. It was midnight, so everyone left to do their respective work. Turning to Vivian, the Queen smirked. "Come here my little bride, we have work to do".
