Morrigan and Earl were seated in a carriage on the way to the general's mansion ; Lazarus Beckett's house.

Earl and Lazarus were two men who knew each other for the longest of time and had taken each other as more than a brother. On days where either of them were less busy, they would usually meet up to spend their leisure with one another and today was one of those days.

Just like Earl, Lazarus was known among the females but, he was more upbeat and lively unlike Earl. He would go out to party, get drunk, have some time out with women and still be at the top of his fighting game the following day.

"What good is life if we don't get to have some fun? You and I are going to live for a very long time. No need to grow old so soon" he would often tell Earl.

Among both brothers, Lazarus was the one who would put his beauty to great use. He would flash his unearthly smile a woman's way and by the end of the day, the woman would end up in his bed. Even with all of Lazarus' escapades with multiple women, he had only ever lived for one woman.

Just like Lazarus, Earl was also once married to the woman whom he genuinely loved but, she had also died during childbirth but had successfully bore a son for him and their son was a very...special character.

Though Earl and Lazarus had different views to life, they understood each other almost too well. Maybe it because they were both...

"What do you think Lazarus will serve us today?" Earl asked with a small smile on his face. He always looked forward to seeing his brother but, he received no reply from the person who was in the carriage with him.

Ever since they both got into the carriage, the cycle had been like this. Earl would open the floor to a discussion but his daughter would barely even reply. Sometimes, she wouldn't say anything at all. Which was so unlike her as she was someone who enjoyed talking and expressing herself and she always looked forward to seeing her Uncle Lazarus.

Earl looked at his daughter who stared blankly out of the window thinking of something unknown. "I heard a fair will be coming to town in two days. Would you like to go?"

Earl attempted once more, hoping the topic would provoke something within her but, he still got the same reply. Nothing. His eyes were fixated on his daughter awaiting for something, anything. The silence alone was enough to kill him..

"Why did mother give me such a name?" she said, still not averting her gaze from the view outside.
