14 years have passed since Noxus attacked Ionia. Many have gone back to their homes and lives before the war. They seem to have rehabilitated... Tho this will change. The embodiment of the Winter, also know as The Prince of the Winter has awakened from his 14 year slumber. He now seeks revenge against the ones that trapped him in stasis, and he'll get his revenge.... Even if it means bringing the whole First Lands in front of the Immortal Bastion.

The Prince of the Winter: A Legend of Runeterra. (Prototype)

The Ionians find themselves in the center of a terrible that causes their ship to crash in the Ixtali shores. Lanius and the rest originally assume it's Shurima and decide to make their way to a village. 


Unbeknownst to them, Rengar mistakes Ahri's scent for Viom's and therefore thinks that he has found the Ixtali "fox demon". Qiyana has also found the ship and decides to handle the Ionians herself.


In Noxus, Leblanc discloses to Swain the events that led to the Winter's imprisonment.


Swain dismisses it but later calls a meeting with the Trifarix to discuss the potential dangers.


Back in Ixtal, Rengar kidnaps an unsuspected Ahri, which forces the Ionians to chase after him, only to be stopped by Qiyana, who challenges Lanius to a duel.


In the mean time, the Winter sends two ice wolves after Rengar. They manage to assist Ahri, who battles the hunter and effectively tricks and defeats him.


Back to Lanius, he defeats Qiyana. Then an ice drake shows up, but the Ionians with Qiyana stop it and Lanius bonds with it.


Qiyana tries to ally herself with the Winter, but he refuses and leaves Xayah and Rakan to tie her up and leave her in the jungle,, where Neeko supposedly frees her?


The Ionians make it to Targon. Lanius and Sett begin to climb Targon.


Sett climbs for two days, but is constantly brought through mental hardships and physical challenges. This causes him to hallucinate and fall down. Taric later finds him and brings him to Soraka, who heals and enlightens him.


In the end, Sett decided to not climb further and gets down.


Lanius on the other hand climbs to the top in three days. In those tgree days, he faces with his past and future, and even battles Aphelios, as the late mistakes him for a Solari.


In the end, Lanius reaches the top, before Aurelion Sol confronts him. Then Lanius receives half of the rune and returns down.


The Ionians, aside from Akali, who returns to Ionia, sail for Demacia.


The volume ends with Swain declaring war against Ionia.
