Chapter 5

At this afternoon, Seren, who wanted to cook a special meal, suddenly noticed that her freezer in her place was empty again, so here she was, squatting in front of a special rack that served fresh vegetables and was seen holding a bundle of green vegetables in front of her face and looking carefully at her.

"Hey. We meet again!" exclaimed a melodious voice from Seren's side that was busy selecting vegetables.

Hearing the friendly greeting, Seren raised her head and smiled with a small nod. Seren was quietly tugging away because she was familiar with the face in front of her, but she was difficult to remember more clearly. Seren only felt that the woman looked very friendly but only herself. Tilt her face to one side, then continued her activity to select very seriously the vegetables she wanted to cook and to ignore the shoulder-length beauty of the nearby brown-haired woman.

Looking at the small woman's antics, Adelle only chuckled small for a moment, then squatted with her little effort on the short skirt she was wearing. But after a while and  Seren continued to ignore her, she moved closer toward the Seren who was still watching her with a frown.

"You forgot about me, didn't you?" Adele asked her straight at the heart of her suspicions. After all, what sensible reason made Seren look at herself suspiciously if the woman had not deliberately forgotten herself.

Seren deepened her brow further. "Huh?" asked the beautiful woman in confused and also a bit of an arse.

Adele chuckled softly. There was an amused thought on her mind seeing the innocent face next to her. "You are so forgetful. We haven't introduce ourself before, so it seems only natural that you forgot about me. Let me introduce, my name is Adele, wife of the man who was visiting yesterday's visitor and without permission at your house," Adele whispered in a tingle. The beautiful woman's eyes sparkled with consoled light.

Hearing that, Seren instantly replayed her memory of yesterday. As she continued to nail her eyes to observe her face once again, Seren tapped gently at the edge of her chin using her left index finger.

Man-eyes? Husband?

"You're adellio's wife who came to visit you yesterday," said Seren with a polite smile after recalling memory about that beautiful woman next to her.

Adele exclaimed excitedly, "Yes, that's me."

Seren then just nodded briefly toward Adelle before then refocused her gaze on the fruit box at the bottom. But her activities also turned out to be followed by Adele. The very beautiful woman in the coat of the office presently squatted down beside her despite the shift.

Frowling her brow bewildered, Seren looked at Adele curious. "Why are you following me? There are other places. Even next to you it's more guaranteed than this side," Seren explains, adding a few grains of tomato to the left side of the cart.

"You're kicking me out, aren't you? You really are a heartless woman. I was confused about what to buy because my husband would normally go shopping for me," Adelle said with a paltry look at her handsome husband waiting in line at a grocery store where they would then pass another woman to buy vegetables and stare drool at her husband's handsome face.

Adele smiled slightly at the thought of it.

"Your husband is such a sweet man. Let me teach you how to distinguish between healthy, cheap vegetables and fruits." Seren responded in a low voice. She then glanced around her and when feeling quite safe, Seren then pulled an apple from the lowest box and the top box simultaneously and argued it in the presence of Adelle who looked at her confused still with a position of crouching.

Noting the code of Seren each held the two items out of her hand, Adele accepted the aplles from Seren and held them in a different hand. Afterward, Adele looked at the Seren with a frown forehaead confused because she didn't know what to do.

Rubbing her chin on the fruit she was holding, she added in her voice. "Now, what shall I do with these two?"

"The good fresh apple is in your left hand. Notice, the apple on your right hand is a really striking color, isn't it? That's because it's usually been given a special fluid, while the ones on your left hand look a little dull because they really haven't mixed anything up. Got it right? It also costs more on the right. You can use this as a simple rule if you want to buy fresh foods such as vegetables," explains Seren kindly and attentively and then goes to the counter with the shopping cart driven by two hands. Seren seemed indifferent and left her all alone with a wistful look at her back.

Adele pulled out both corners of her lips and smiled slightly. The beautiful woman then put the two fruits in her own basket.

But Adele's follow-through activities didn't stop there. She even followed the woman behind the counter to the counter carrying only the pair of apples that Seren had given her.

On the other hand, even though she felt strange about Adele's erratic behavior, Seren could just sit back and let the beautiful woman continue to follow her wherever she went. Even Seren couldn't give her another word of resistance when Adele insisted on driving her home and had to be resigned when she barged in her quarters for reasons out there in the rain.

And here are the two lovely ladies. In the living room of the Seren house and sitting face to face. A large window pane there next to them showed raindrops falling very rapidly in volume as well.

Remembering the conversation they had earlier on the way home, Seren looked up at the woman sitting across from her. "So you and your husband are not the owners of the house next to my house?" said Seren as she gazed at Adelle expectedly after sipping a little warm water in her hands at the moment.

Adelle shrugged her shoulders with lazy lips busy sucking the coffee from her mug. "It belonged to my husband's best friend." She replied casually.

"Then why do you people live there?" again asked Seren because she was really curious about the information.

"We're not living there," Adelle said, "he was away on a business trip the other day. So he had Gary help him to clean up the place he had just bought," explains Adele further.

That heartfelt explanation was simply met with the vague murmur of Seren, who at present was gazing at the rain curtain from behind the glass window that happened to be nearby. Seren accidentally bit her lower lip and completely ignored the presence of Adele sitting in front of her.

"You like the rain, too?" Adele said with a palpable look after turn her body at the window and supporting her chin with her right hand.

Seren gave her a glimpse of Adele and then looked out again. The woman inhaled slowly before answering in despair, "I'm really happy when I see rain but I don't know why."

Adele could only smile gently toward the seemingly dazed man. Her eyes reflect a strange glow when saying, "the owner of the house next to you also loves the rain. In fact, he would laugh or stare at the window when it was raining."

"Really?" said seren with a gentle smile.

ᴥᴥᴥ

"Really? What else did she say?" Alan said enthusiastically after hearing Adelle's story that had just told him all the things he had spoken to Seren this afternoon.

Adelle nodded with an eye that looked lazy at the sweet circular clock on her right wrist. "She says she likes rain but can't remember why." She said and then stood up before uttering the warning tone at Alan, "meet her immediately, Alan. Don't be afraid anymore because it seems like sh3 really doesn't remember anything."

At the end of her saying, Adele firmly turned her body and walked with a footsteps toward the door on a mobile phone several inches from her red lip.

"I'm on my way, asshole. Be patient!" contact the oppressive woman from the threshold and then rudely place her cell phone in her handbag. Afterward, she walked away after closing Alan's office door in an abusive manner.

"I'm afraid, Adele." Alan murmured with his palms rubbing the surface of his face in frustration.
