“So should we load the dishes into the dishwasher?” Bobby asked.
They had finished the task of clearing the table, and Sue, Lia and Bobby were now standing in the big modern kitchen.
“We all have hands; we don’t need machines to do what we do way better ourselves,” Sue declared.
“Actually, the dishwasher does a better job, but what do I know?” Bobby said as he began pouring the dishwashing liquid into the sink.
“Do not be sassy with me, young man!” Sue said and Bobby pouted.
“Ma, this is just abuse, you know?” Lia said as she helped Bobby put the dishes into the sink now filled with soapy water.
Sue laughed. “It’s just being a great wife, dear.”
“Yes, a great wife of the ’50s! We are in the new era Ma!” Lia argued.
“So teach your old mother my child, what makes a good wife in this new era?” Sue asked.
