Lia walked down the red carpet towards the minister and Ryan, seeing but not fully comprehending everything around her. She held tightly onto her father’s arm feeling grateful for the stability it gave her. Without it, she felt she would crumble to the floor.

She could see Ryan watching her with tears in his eyes. Boy, he was such a good actor. The press was running around like headless chickens, clicking away on their cameras. They were definitely eating all this up. Ryan deserved a round of applause and an Oscar for this display of emotion.
