Jonah stuck his head out the window and let the wind blow coolly on his face. He rested his head on his hand and tried to ignore the pain in his elbow from pressing against the edge of the widow and the glass.
“You okay, buddy?” Nick asked, glancing over at Jonah. Jonah sighed.
“Yeah, I’m just anxious. What are we going to do when we get there? Lucifer will be there. What if she didn’t tell him and we ruined everything?”
Nick tightened his grip on the steering wheel and gave out an exasperated sigh.
“We’ve talked about this,” Nick mumbled.
“I know, and I know you’re right that’s why we are going but I’m still… just … scared.”
Nick glanced over at Jonah and reached over to pat his shoulder. Jonah stiffed a little bit at Nick’s touch as different thoughts passed through his mind.
