“I’m sorry, what?” Jonah couldn’t help but ask. “You have a different plan? But we did everything you asked….” Jonah wanted to object further, but his voice ran dry as his imagination ran wild. He could feel his fear and worries rising to the surface. His body was shaking thinking about what Lucifer might do instead. He feared that Lucifer might change his mind and decide to keep Mazakin and Ahpunch in hell and force him and Joel back to earth. Though he knew without Mazakin, he might as well be dead anyway.
Lucifer gave him a curious look.
“Chin up, my darling. Whiny children never get what they want,” Lucifer answered. Jonah took a deep breath and kept his mouth shut. Lucifer stood up and started dramatically pacing around the room. “As I stated, I have a better idea. Since you five have managed to accomplish everything I asked within my time frame, I feel that deserves a better reward. I’m prepared to give it to you.”
