Chapter 56: A Promise Is a Promise

I felt my fingers shaking. It took me a minute to realize I needed to control my body so Chase didn't notice. I wanted to come off as confident and sexy, not innocent and inexperienced. My heart was racing, and it felt like it was going to pop out of my chest.

First, it was just my shoes, then it was my socks. I didn't feel exposed at this point. I was shocked he kept going. His hand looked to be cramping, but he kept going, looking up every once in a while to smile at me.

"Starting to regret this yet?" he asked, looking at me. I didn't regret making this decision, but God, I wished I was more outgoing. What did I even say or do? Should I dance?

"Not at all. I'm looking forward to it," I said, trying to lift my chin to exude confidence. I may have looked stupid in the process, but I was trying something here.

"Good because I am going to race through these questions like crazy," he said and started to write fast.
