"Please, don't go," I whispered as I started kissing her neck once again.

She caressed my head but started saying the reasons why she knew it was wrong.

"We can't do this, Triton," she told me. "It is killing us, and it is destroying our families. Imagine how the pack would react if they were to discover us here? If they discovered that you were in the woods with me, kissing and caressing? As much as I love you and as much as we are mates, we are also enemies, Triton."

"No!" I said, my face still buried in her neck. "I don't care what they think! I don't care what will happen! All I want is you."

I awoke before my alarm today. I barely slept at all last night. I kept having bloody nightmares about the wolves coming and tearing up my friends and family. I saw them get ripped to shreds by the sharp claws of an unknown wolf. I heard them cry out in pain and for help, but their cries were drowned out by the roars and howls of the wolves. 


I shut off my alarm on my phone and went to check my messages. I had no new messages, but I opened the messages I had from Triton. It read: "I am so sorry, Ariana. You must know that you mean the world to me. I promise I will never hurt you on purpose. I did not know what to do. Please, can we talk soon?"


I never sent him a message telling him about the rogue wolves yet. I did not know how to say it when I never answered his pleas to speak to him. Just randomly shoot him a text and say, "hey, beware of rogue wolves," and leave it at that?
