Chapter 46: Come With Me

*** Ariana's POV***

I did not like how tense everyone was becoming. It felt so intense and strange. I wished we could just leave. The Spring ball felt like it was totally ruined. I remembered how much simpler and calm it felt when I was younger. Before, this feud seemed like such a big deal. I wished I could go back to that time. I allowed my mind to wander in this frame of mind for a time. I remembered the first Spring ball I attended when I was 13.

It was all pink and light green. I wore a yellow dress, and my mother told me I looked like the goddess Persephone. In my mind, I wondered what it would be like to have that time again, except to be with Triton. But, in my heart, it felt perfect. I could dance with Triton unashamed. Carol could dance with Amber unashamed. Everything was so sweet.

"Come on," I was awakened from my daydream by Triton grasping my hand. "Let's go. We don't have to stay here."

I was surprised but glad as he lifted me to my feet.
