Leaders of Narukami Island 2

(Sasayuri POV)

I deflected a blade coming to cut me down. Using my electro vision I enhanced my speed and infused my blade with electro element in order to do a counter. I quick went in front of her and did a barrage of slashes. Two slashes per second, targeting her neck, torso, waist and arms yet she blocked it all flawlessly. I jumped away distancing myself before she starts attacking again.

This girl is too crazy, its already our 10th spar for the day yet she doesn't even show a hint of fatigue. Putting my katana behind my head on my right shoulder with a calm pose, I talked to her.

"How about a break Ei? I dont think it will affect your skills too much." I requested with a smile.

"It won't but it never hurts to sharpen my skills anytime I can." She answered while still on her fighting stance.

"A day off is what I mean, We can ask Makoto to come with us for a small vacation, a nice change of pace. You never know, maybe a little rest might help for your mind." I suggested to her and patiently waited for an answer. It isn't like I don't get breaks, Makoto comes in from time to time to spar with her which is like two times a week. Other than that, she always force- asked me nicely to spar with her.

"We can take a break." I cheered in my mind silently when i heard her.

"But only after the unification of Narukami Island is done." My mood deflating with every word that comes out of her mouth.

"And are you saying there's something wrong with me?!" She angrily questioned.

"That's not what I mean!" I mean I do think that training everyday without breaks is crazy but I wont say that or else I'm in for a suffering. Sighing, I quickly readied my katana to quickly finish our spar.

Unleashing my wings for a final exchange, I infused everything I can with the electro element. My katana, my wings and my feet sparking with lightning. Dashing forward I lifted my blade for a downward slash which she quickly deflected. Changing my stance after getting deflected, I lowered my blade and slashed from her left waist to her right arm that is holding her sword, trying to separate it from her.

She blocked and countered as I dodged by flying upward. After that, I unleashed a barrage of slashes while flying trying to caught her off guard with my speed. Two slashes per second, three per second which is my current limit or my attacks will lose its strength by focusing only on speed. It took a minute of exchanges before I stopped and dropped to the ground slightly bending from fatigue.

"You are too annoying to fight when you use your wings, you big fly." Ei said with a bit of annoyance.

"Thank you for your kind words your majesty." I jested smirking with a slightly tired tone.

Ei ignored me, sheathing her katana which marks the end of our spar.

"How about using a polearm for the next spar Ei?" I teasingly suggested with a sly smirk.

"I'd rather not experience your cowardly tactics again, you annoying insect." Ei replied with a deadpanned tone looking at me with disgust.

"Its called being smart your majesty, and all you need to do is to fly to improve your aerial ability anyway." I teased, smirking while she completely ignored what I said.

"A bow perhaps? It would be good for long range battles." I continued as I tried suggesting another one.

"My blade can reach everything." She said seriously with confidence.

"Are you still embarrassed about that time? Dont worry about it, it's your first time using one after all." I said while laughing which I quickly stopped because I saw some sparks coming from her blade. Seeing her agitated, I hurriedly tried to find way out of the situation and a possible beating when i saw a crow coming from the window.

Ei noticed it too, and I quickly stretched my arm for the crow to land on. Taking the item that it carried onto us which seems to be a letter of sorts. I opened it as fast as I can to read an important report from one of the tengus I tasked to survey around Narukami Island. It looks like I will have more breaks from now on since I found a possible additional sparring partner.

"What is it about?" Ei asked me with a serious tone after seeing my bright smile.

"A discovery that we must tell Makoto as fast as we possibly can." I answered with a teasing smirk.

"Then let's go to her right now." said Ei coldly as she ran as fast as possible using electro with a small hint of redness from her face leaving me behind alone.

"Looks like I went too far that she entered Cold Mode that Makoto told me about."

I whispered as I forced my fatigued body to catch up to her.

(Ei's POV)

I left the insect and quickly went to my sister's office. After arriving, I gently knocked on the door.

"Come in!" a cheerful voice answered from the other side. I opened the door and entered the room as I see a slightly tired Makoto with a lot of papers on her desk.

"What's wrong Ei-chan? You came here so suddenly. Isn't Sasayurin with you for your spar?" she questioned. I slightly blushed remembering what happened earlier with our spar and casual banter.

"He's on the way here, just a little bit tired from our spar. He said there is an important news to tell you." I answered while looking away to hide my face. I can feel her inquisitive stare at me trying to figure out what happened.

"What happened Ei-chan?" she asked with a mischievous look on her face.

Silence fell upon us as she waits for my answer. Luckily someone barged in the room severing the silent atmosphere.

"I'm finally here." a tired Sasayuri said as he went inside the room and took a seat at his usual place around the table. Makoto silently stood up before sitting at the other side of Sasayuri, while I sat beside her two seats away like our daily gathering. Releasing a sigh, the insect looked at me while I look away to ignore him.

"How cruel of you to just leave me there Ei when I was clearly tired from our spar." Sasayuri said while pleading to Makoto.

"You shouldn't do something like that Ei-chan. You should've at least waited for him so you can go together." said Makoto with a reprimanding tone at me. I harrumphed and ignored the two that is clearly teaming up against me.

"What did you do Sasayurin? She went to Cold Ei-chan to the point she even ignored her beloved sister!" Makoto said with fake panic and sadness to Sasayuri while looking at me from time to time.

"It looks like we wont get anymore reaction for today." She sighed in resignation.

"Now tell me what you found out Sasayuri." quickly changing her tone to a more serious one.

"Yes my lord, I got a letter from one of my subordinates that I ordered to survey around Narukami Island." Sasayuri answered clearly.

"They found a wandering oni and followed him silently. What they found ont their search is most likely the Oni Clan's base or home, as they saw hundreds of onis after peeking at the place for a few minutes before leaving silently." He continued with a hint of elation.

"So the Onis are the next huh." I whispered silently with excitement.
