Chapter 13: Leaderboards, Really Becoming a Dad

Quinn kept floating around aimlessly until it was nearly dark. Even then, he still didn't have any thoughts on going home yet as he could see a lake a few kilometers away from him.

If he wasn't wrong, this should be the Flatmore lake he saw on the map, the only lake in Flatmore area.

Quinn then decided to do a little night fishing. At least this way, he could also gain more diversity in his food storage.

After quickly making a blueprint for a boat and a fishing rod, he then synthesized the items and rode directly towards the deeper parts.

Quinn threw away the fishing hook at a distance and then patiently waited. The fishing rod he had had special attractive powers towards fishes with the same level and lower than the rod.

Before long, Quinn was startled by something. It wasn't a fish but a world announcement that rang throughout the whole world.

[Congratulations for Player Sumi for reaching Tier 1. As there are now two players at Tier 1, the leaderboards will be activated. The rankers will obtain rewards and the higher the rank, the richer the rewards.]

He was surprised that another Tier 1 player finally appeared. Moreover, it was that Sumi girl.

Quinn checked and of course he was first place with his level displayed for all to see. "Looks like Gaia didn't add a privacy option."

Quinn didn't really mind it. He just ignored it and checked the rewards he would be getting. For every week he would remain in the spot, he would receive a spirit stone and some elemental stones. Quinn didn't think much of those and checked the monthly rewards.

For the monthly rewards, it doubled the rewards for the weekly rewards together with a powerful AOE skill called [METEOR]. Like it's name, it summoned a small meteor to strike a target area.

It was a powerful skill, bur Quinn wasn't sure if he was going to use it often. It had a great destructive power to its surroundings and he wasn't gonna fight that often when he could send in his puppets.

While Quinn was still checking the system, a tug brought his attention back to his fishing rod.

Looking over to where the hook was, he saw a red glow that seemed to be struggling to escape. Quinn quickly pulled with some strength and the glowing fish was reeled in.

Quinn directly threw an [IDENTIFY] at it and learned that it was a Burning Flame Fish. Oddly enough, it was of the fire attribute despite living in the water. He could only think that there might be an underground volcano down the lake.

After his first catch, his luck seemed to have become stronger since he was getting more

and more fish. Moreover, they were of different species and attributes.

Quickly storing them in the warehouse, Quinn felt that it was finally time to go home. He couldn't wait to have Anrod cook the fishes he caught this time.

Quinn finally used his full speed as he flew home. He only left a flash and before some could react, he would already be gone.

After roughly an hour, Quinn finally made it back. He found that all the others, including the puppets, were already gathered around a bonfire.

Elizar was proudly showing off his catch as he roasted it over the fire. At the same time, he was also teaching the puppets some basic survival skills when they go out in the wild.

The ten were just huddled around the fire, watching curiously as the meat was cooked. Just as they were busy admiring Elizar cook the meat, they saw Quinn and their eyes lit up.

"Father!", they all shouted almost simultaneously.

Quinn was stunned for a moment hearing them talk for the first time and also calling him father as their first words. He felt some happiness blooming inside of him but he quickly hid it. Anrod smiled faintly at this sight before explaining, "Chief, their learning speed is fast and right now, aside from "father", they've also learned to call me teacher."

Quinn was surprised but pleasantly nodded. 'Hah, my kids are geniuses to learn this fast', he thought shamelessly inside his head.

At this time, a petite elf among the group walked over to him and said, "Hi, Dad!"

"Call me daddy."

"Eh?"

"Nothing"

Quinn saw that this girl was Six, the healer girl. He was surprised to see that she seemed different from the rest. Anrod was also quick to explain, "She seems smarter than the rest, even more than the magic builds that focuses of intelligence stats. She had even helped me teach correct pronunciations to her siblings, although she herself could only speak in broken sentences. I can only think that this is something innate that attributes don't provide."

Quinn thought for a moment before saying, "I guess it's understandable since even identical twins would have differences."

Anrod nodded those words before again telling Quinn about how he wants to nurture Six into another teacher in the future. Moreover, with her healing talent, she can work part-time as the school nurse.

Quinn thought and looked at Six who was looking at him smilingly. He unconsciously smiled back and gradually realized something. "Hmm... she can probably decide that on her own. For now, teach her and the others everything you can."

Quinn didn't realize but he really was starting to treat them like his own kids, although he himself was a kid at heart, unlike before when they just puppets to him.

Thinking about it, Quinn thought grinding and exploring were tiring at first so he just wanted to stay at his territory and be idle. However, he also quickly got bored and wanted to entertain himself by going out and exploring.

Quinn realized that it might have been because he had always been alone. In this world, he had been living a carefree life but he had no one to spend it with.

Now, Quinn was even more determined to speed up their education and take them out to see the world. He wanted to feel what a real father felt like when they teach something to their children.

For that, Quinn actually had an idea. He was going to use his skill creation chance for tomorrow and make something that could speed up time in an area.

This won't only speed up the sibling's education, but it would also greatly accelerate the the territory's ability to nurture many experts in the future.
