"Human, you dare to repeat those words?!"
Among the disorderly shouting of the goblins, there was actually one of them who answered back in fluent human language. Quinn was surprised to hear that and searched among the messy crowd until he noticed one particular goblin that looked different from the rest.
Although it still looked pretty disgusting, this goblin still looked more dignified than the rest as it stood much straighter and actually wore proper clothes that covered everything that should be covered.
Looking at the staff in the goblin's hand, Quinn immediately came to a realization. Although the staff was actually fake and was no different than a regular stick, it still hinted at the goblin's identity as a mage. Quinn had learned before that goblins had pretty low affinity for magic so whenever a goblin mage appeared, they would instantly become leaders. Moreover, because goblin mages would be enhanced by mana, their intelligence would be boosted up even further.
Quinn didn't answer the raging goblin mage as he studied it curiously. This made the goblin mage humiliated as it clearly felt that Quinn didn't take it seriously. It started chanted some pretty ancient sounding language and gathered fire elements into a single point. Specks of red light could be seen being condensed until a fireball was formed in its hand.
Seeing the fireball floating on the mage's hands, the goblins became fanatic as they started to worship it like a god. The goblin mage proudly looked at the humans in front of it and pointed its nose to the heavens.
Quinn and the others were speechless as this mage dared to show off such a low level magic in front of him. Furthermore, it took such a long time to cast the spell. Quinn simply waved his hand which created a gust of wind that blew out the the fireball like a candle.
The goblin mage was stunned as its brain couldn't process what happened that it malfunctioned for a second. It looked at the hand that was originally holding the fireball and only after staring at it for some time that it realization hit its head.
It quickly looked back at Quinn as he found out that this human actually possessed god-like strength that he could instantly snuff out its most powerful magic. As for the other goblins, they were still in a daze. Just because they were intelligent didn't mean they had the wisdom to properly use that intelligence.
After a few moments, the expected reaction of being scared shitless didn't appear on them as they actually got mad at Quinn for blowing out such a wonderful piece of magic. This made Quinn speechless once again and he didn't even reply and just sent back a fireball that was countless times more powerful than the goblin's.
The goblins only felt the temperature suddenly rise and before they could have any more thoughts, they instantly melted and then evaporated, effectively wiping out their existence.
Only the goblin mage was left and had to watch its brethren disintegrate. All of its conceit had been completely erased and all that's left was immense fear. The only thing it wanted right now was to run as fast it could but sadly, even its legs gave up on it.
Quinn didn't give the goblin any more time and just directly sent it to meet its goblin friends. He received some notifications about some xp gain. Quinn checked and found that the xp he earned was probably already enough to level up two people to Tier 1. Unfortunately, this amount was very minimal to Tier 3 beings like him. It didn't even reach 1% of the overall requirement and that was after killing some dungeon monsters that were around his level.
If he wanted to level up faster, then he could only go after higher level monsters. Unfortunately, their are still no Tier 4 dungeons since he had to reach Tier 4 himself. As for Tier 4 monsters that wander outside, the xp they was even lesser than the weakest Tier 3 dungeon monster.
Quinn shook his head in disappointment before his eyes suddenly lit up in realization. "Right! Why did I never think of that. Some protagonists usually had some kind of xp multiplier cheat. Can my system also give me that?"
[Host, you cannot get an xp multiplier skill. In essence, when you're receiving xp, you're actually absorbing your dead enemy's energy and soul power. A half goes to you in the form of xp points while the other half goes to Gaia for her own use. You cannot receive more if the other party simply can't provide enough and you can't take a bigger share of the xp as Gaia wouldn't allow that.]
Quinn was stunned at Alice's explanation before humphing in annoyance. "What a scam! Those protagonists could get it, why can't I?!"
Although he said so, Quinn was just venting off his irritation at the thought of not being able to ascend to godhood overnight. He just comforted himself that although his levelling speed was slow, it was still actually several times faster than others especially since he had eight xp factories which were the elves, excluding Avelin and Jarvis who usually stays behind.
Putting all thoughts behind for later, he focused on the matter at hand. They had just finished exterminating this cluster of goblins and they were just probably one of the many groups that had formed.
They quickly scanned over their surroundings to make sure nothing was missed and soon left the area. This time, they continued exploring the plains area as they thought that goblins had a higher probability of building their bases here as compared to the forest that hid countless dangers beneath the dense tree tops and thick tree trunks.
In the end, they did manage to find another cluster shortly and this one was slightly bigger than the previous. The only difference was that this group was led by an ordinary goblin that was stronger than the rest by a little bit.
Like the previous goblins, these ones also drooled over them and only until they were about to be massacred did they realize what they had run into. Before they could run, they had already lost their lives.
