Suspicion

I sat on the chair as I looked out through the glass window.

My head rested on my hand as I sighed. I could not understand why Mayla was here at least at this time. I could see her walking inside the home from a distance.

Mayla suddenly said she remembered something and went outside to see Andrew. I knew that the two were friends. Friends that I did not know anything of.

"You came back?" I raised my eyes as I saw Mayla sitting beside me.

"Yes," Mayla smiled as she looked at me. "What happened?"

"Did you have dinner?" I asked as I was ready to get up. But Mayla walked inside the kitchen with me.

"I won't say 'no' to some hit coffee," Mayla said playfully and I knew what she wanted. Whenever Mayla wanted a hot coffee from me, she wanted something. She wanted to talk.

I nodded my head. If Mayla wanted to talk about something, I wanted to talk too. It was the best thing to have something in my hand to start a conversation about.
