{ CHAPTER - 21 } JUST A DREAM

When asked for help, Karma just turned away.

"You–"

Ava suddenly turned around and noticed Karma standing outside, she understood

immediately and became furious.

"So you can't even apologize without him telling you" she shouted at Aryan with an angry tone.

Now, what was he supposed to do?

"I–It's not like that dear, he was just"

Ava looked him in the eyes and said in a disappointing tone. "I'm so disappointed in you, you always forget about things like this"

He just had a great idea, something his coworker told him. "Oh yeah, you remember that dress you liked that day why don't you buy it? I bet 100% it'd look good on you"

Ava ignored him and he a gaping turned around to ask Karma, Karma gave him a sign to push further.

"And yeah, WHY don't you go shopping with your friends, you should take some time off too you know"

Ava was not buying it. When nothing worked out Aryan grabbed her from behind and hugged her tightly.

"I'm sorry, please. It was just work that kept me busy I promise not to repeat the same mistake"

Ava calmed down a bit as she loosen her hands. "Whatever, I don't care anymore," she said while pouting.

Aryan hugged her even more tightly than before and said. "OK, why don't we have dinner outside"

Still, angry Ava asked in a small and uncertain voice. "You mean a candlelight dinner?"

"Yes with all three of–"

Karma smacked his father with a ball of paper, and when he turned around, Karma gave him eyes that clearly said 'JUST THE TWO OF YOU.'

"Did you say something?"

He cleared up his mistake and said. "Yes yeah, just the two of us, how about that?"

At this point Ava forgave him. " Well...fine"

Karma congratulated himself while outside and said. "Well done, me"

That was it; Aryan was now at last secure. Following that, Ava kept cleaning but sped up a bit, while Aryan went outside and gave Karma a high-five.

The time had come, it was getting dark outside, and Aryan and Ava were both dressed appropriately. On their date, they both appeared to be a lovely couple.

"Lock the door and don't let anyone come in ok? Make sure you eat the dinner I made it's in the fridge"

"OK OK I got it, just go already"

Although Ava loved him, he would be okay, despite what he had said.

"Then, we are going ."

That ought to have been it as soon as the door shut and they left for a wonderful date.

"KYAAAAAAA!!!"

Karma hurried outside after hearing his mother scream as he was entering the house.

"This–"

Why does he keep seeing this? What's going on here? He was incredibly perplexed when he noticed the Blue Moon in the sky, but even more so because he couldn't find his parents anywhere.

"MOM? DAD?"

He moved forward one step, and the environment changed abruptly.

"What the—"

What was the sudden event? He's not here. His parents aren't around. He looked around when he awoke and realized that this is the same location from his dreams. 'The Hell'.

"This is—"

Karma felt something on his legs from behind, and when he turned to look, the smile that had been on his face earlier was completely gone.

He quickly jumped back in fear as he noticed two balls rolling beneath him.

"M–mom? Dad?" he asked in a slow but shaking voice.

When he noticed his parents' two heads rolling beneath his feet with stretches and marks all over them, he realized he was losing the ability to even stand. He suddenly recalled seeing the same thing that night in hell.

But that wasn't all; those two heads' eyes also started to move erratically, and they suddenly started to grow demon-like limbs as well.

"MOM!! DAD!! WHAT'S HAPPENING?"

The two heads, which were now two demons, screamed as though they were asking for help, and instantly more demons appeared.

The horde of demons, which included both of Karma's parents, attacked him while he was immobile, biting at his flesh and dragging him into the shadows.

He was crying while being dragged into the darkness against his will and by his "OWN" parents, and he was bleeding profusely as his flesh was being torn apart.

He fought to reach the light but was overcome by the horde, dragged into the shadows, and devoured.

"AAAAAAAAAAA"

His hand was extended toward the ceiling, and he jumped up a little from his sleep.

He remembered everything when he opened his eyes and saw the roof above him.

(You're awake)

As he awoke, the very audible sound of chirping birds outside helped him to become a little less agitated.

Karma stood up and asked Agastha who was seated next to him. "How did I get here?"

(I dragged you here last night after you collapsed)

He could recall what had happened the previous evening, but oddly enough, he was pain-free.

Although his face was supposed to be burned, it wasn't when he held his hand close to it. "Why happened to my hand? It was on caught fire last night."

(I healed it.)

He exploded. "You HEALED it?"

He gave Agastha the death stare which said it all. (I know what you're thinking 'If you knew how to heal then why did you not heal them' right?)

Karma was pissed while he looked at him and asked. "Tell me then, why? Why did you deny that you can't help"

(There are limits to what I can do right now)

He asked in an unsure voice. "Limits?"

(Even though I did heal you, it was only because you didn't have any possible permanent wounds. In contrast to your father, who had a hole through his chest that was unlikely to heal, you suffered wounds that did not permanently sever your body parts. In addition, even if I wanted to heal someone else I can't, I am only able to touch you)
