It is true that when Chief Aryan looked through the garbage for hints, he discovered some veggies that were a little bit more rotting than the ones he had seen on the table. That's how the chief discovered that someone had previously visited and resolved a case.
(That does make sense, but how can you be certain of the types of hints they'll be looking for?)
"I don't, which is why I'm exercising caution. I'm just taking care of everything I used once I entered the home, including the meals I'm eating and the items I'm handling. And I can reasonably predict the types of additional hints they will consider."
(How?)
He put his chin on his palm, turned his eyes to the rear, and looked hard at Agastha.
"I have met the types of people that will be engaged in this case, so I know who they are."
(Is that why they won't likely suspect you of being responsible for the disappearance of your family since they know you?)
He paused before finishing his sentence to look at his face, at which point he realized what he was saying.
Karma flashed a glance that exuded a strong sense of assurance. Agastha was aware that this was his strategy. Karma will use that time to flee so that the task force won't accuse him of being the suspect. Then, when the occasion is right, he will give them what they're seeking.
It appeared as though Karma was puppeteering the task force as a whole by pulling on a thread and directing them.
He was bothered by one thing, though, and that was. (How likely is it that the task force will include individuals you know?)
Karma can say this with confidence since he was well aware that Agastha could be concerned about it.
"It's easy; each of those individuals holds a better position and possesses considerable talent."
He then put his other hand under his chin as well and grinned mockingly. In addition, "they are all emotional idiots beyond anything else"
Agastha lacked the words to either rebuke him or draw his attention to the error of his ways. In truth, he had nothing to say; all that mattered to him was that Karma upheld his half of the bargain.
But for some reason, when Agastha saw the way the man was smiling at the time, he realized that the guy seated in front of him "really" did not care what happened to anybody else any longer.
He saw that Karma was gradually developing into a guy more deserving of serving as his conjurer.
In all honesty, Agastha was very impressed by how damaged Karma is getting since it meant that finishing the job will be simple. However, Karma was slowly breaking from the inside but was not conscious of it.
(Emotional fools? Would you mind expanding on that?)
Karma remarked with a sneer. "I watched them whenever they interacted, and every time they did, I saw respect in their eyes for my father. You could also say that they regarded my father as a teaching figure. It implies that every one of those individuals is like a family to my dad, and they all believe the same."
(So, what you're saying is that they'll kick others out and take over because their "teacher" vanished")
Karma attempted to be upbeat as he pointed both of his pointer fingers at him and remarked, "Exactly,"
"Then, If you know that the police will arrive to apprehend you, shouldn't you immediately leave?"
"Not precisely, do you remember that evening when we decided to go skiing? Before even considering taking a leave of absence, dad would need to notify others if he were to take some time off from work."
(And?)
"When I attempted to close the laptop after finding it open after supper that night, I discovered that my father had written an email detailing his leave."
(Oh, I see. That implies that according to the authorities, your father is still alive and thought to be with his family if they are unable to reach him.)
Karma nodded and gently closed his eyes.
(Doesn't that allow you some time to act before they figure it out?)
"Yes, it does, albeit in a feeble way. Because of this, Agastha, I want to devote the upcoming days to training. I ask that you prepare me so that I can continue to survive against people like before."
Although Agastha could see the absolute resolve in his eyes, he was aware that it would be impossible.
(That is not possible; even if you are a conjurer, you cannot suddenly become extremely strong.)
Karma had also given this some thought previously.
"I have a strategy for that since I knew you would say something like that."
At the moment, Agastha was unaware of what was in store for him. (A...plan?)
"I noticed that when you treated me, my arms seemed lighter than they had before. This is because you not only cured me but also regenerated my muscles."
(I guess)
"Humans can't heal their muscles so rapidly, which is why it takes them time to get stronger; however, I don't have that problem. You can heal me whenever my muscles tear, and since I am already a conjurer, my muscle healing rate is already considerably higher than that of humans, correct?"
He now comprehended the nature of the proposal. Agastha questioned why he had not considered this earlier.
(That's....true. You can grow muscles better than anyone if you manage some near-death, er, hard exercise. But let me just say that I can only cure you around three to five times since it requires a lot of demonic energy.)
He looked at Agastha while getting out of the chair and grinned. "That's more than enough."
There was a little period of stillness as they both continued to exchange confident stares before he made a crucial observation.
"Did you just say anything about being close to death or something?"
(Not at all, you were just hearing things)
Both people are still looking at one other, but Karma's expression has changed from one of confidence to suspicion.
