{ CHAPTER - 32 } FIRST STEP TOWARDS CHANGE

Instead of the sound of singing birds or the feel of warm sunlight on his face, his morning began.

(Karma, wake up)

He could even hear his voice calling his name in his dreams since his face was so close to him.

(Karma!)

Have you ever imagined what a demon might sound like? Yes, it is terrifying and horrible, but more than anything, if a demon shouts out your name only a half-inch from your ear, you will feel icy air in your ear.

He quickly opened his tired eyelids in alarm as a result of the unexpected chill in the air.

He observed that the demon's face was brushing his cheeks as he fully rotated his left eyeball to the rear. He was rather near.

"What are you doing?" he said, rolling his gaze forward as he peered out of his room's window.

(What do you mean by 'What am I doing?'. I'm waking you.)

Karma had noticed something over the previous few days: Agastha was growing more and more unpleasant by the minute he listened to him.

"I know what you're doing, I'm asking 'why' are you waking me up at this hour? The Sun isn't even up yet."

In a serious tone, the devil pulled back his face and said, (Do you believe you have the time to squander even a second? You need to make the most of every second you have while you are in this situation.)

Even while it could have seemed harsh to him, this was nevertheless the case. Karma was in a situation where he may lose his life with only a second delay.

As he decided to get up, the sloth was still evident in his eyes. After what he had been through, it made sense that his body would want to relax a bit more.

But he was aware that his sloth may kill him at any time. He dragged himself out of bed to do so.

He perched on the edge of his bed and carefully massaged his still somewhat drowsy eyes, saying, "I'm up, I'm up."

As he watched the night turn to day outside his window, he lifted his hands and massaged his bedhead.

He pushed himself to rise and walk to his door, leaving his sloth in the dust.

He unlocked the door and went downstairs after turning on the hallway light. He began to make his way to the bathroom to wash his face and brush his teeth when he paused in the middle and turned to face the hallway.

As he recalled his earlier years, he added with a mixture of nostalgia and regret "This house is now empty. Never imagined such a day would come."

He looked forward and started to clean his teeth to avoid feeling depressed once more.

He felt refreshed when he poured the cool water on his face just after waking up, but he also considered snuggling back into bed.

While getting dressed, he turned on the lights in the kitchen and living room.

He made his breakfast while still keeping it basic because he didn't want to eat too much and miss out on his workout. The cool water had helped him keep his eyes open.

He removed three eggs from the refrigerator tray and cracked them open on the pan that had previously been greased with butter.

The bread was then removed from the packet and placed in the toaster.

He let the flames go out while he waited for the eggs to finish cooking. The bread was also finished at the same time.

His devil was seated in the chair next to him while he removed everything, presented it to himself on a plate, and ate it at the dining table.

He had already come to terms with the reality that the devil will always be watching him no matter where he goes or what he does, so he was no longer troubled by him at this point.

He was interrupted by the demon when he stated something after almost finishing his dinner.

(Coming to think of it, do you know where you're meant to go? You just are aware that the location is in the Himalayas, but not precisely where.)

It will be challenging not knowing the precise location, but he prepared this somewhat.

He finished everything on his plate, leaving nothing behind, then told the devil about his scheme.

"There are several methods to find them. One is that we can focus our search and eliminate all of the potential paths they may take to evade the authorities, which aren't many."

He got out of the chair and grabbed up the plate, pushing the chair back with his legs.

He left, put the plate in the sink, and then came back to the monster.

"Second, given their population, they will require that many supplies. So, we look at the video captured by the camera at the checkpoint to see if their truck or any other vehicle may have left the area. Since transporting supplies is not illegal"

The demon now had a vision in his head that Karma could have forgotten. (Karma, what about that diary you found? Did you look into it?)

It was logical that he would have forgotten anything given everything going on in his life at the moment.

He was a regular child with nothing remarkable going on until a few weeks ago, but things changed for the worst after he had a literal encounter with a demon.

"Oh, I forgot"

After that evening, he didn't even look at the diary when he got home.

He quickly went and got the diary, then sat down at the dining table holding it.
