Chapter 57

I got into the car and put my seatbelt on. He started the car and drove in silence down deserted roads. He didn’t even stop at the red lights because there were literally no cars around. I looked at the clock to see that it was past midnight.

He turned on the radio and I threw his green coat in the backseat because it was too hot in the car-and it wasn’t just the air conditioning.

A song I recognized as one of Artic Monkeys’ started plying and after a few lyrics I realized it was a really sexual song.

This time Nate stopped at the red light, even though there were no cars around and I looked sideways at him.

"You should put your seatbelt on you know." I said and I don’t know what came over me, but the next thing I knew was that I undid my seatbelt and swung my left leg over his lap, shifting over and straddling him. He pulled the hand brake just to make sure.
