Chapter 22

I frown at my phone but don’t say anything. Was this a stupid thing Jake did to get Niall and I to go together somewhere? Because it was a long shot. But it worked, the clever motherfucker.

After we finish our food we go browsing through other shops, and although I’m trying to work out a way to ask him about his that, I can’t.

"I’ll drive you home." I tell him when we reach my car, an hour later. It’s already half past four and I have to go to the dance rehearsal.

"It’s fine, I can take the bus."

"No, come on. I have to be at dance rehearsals at five and it’s on my way."

That’s a lie.

"Alright." Niall agrees.

I remember how his house looks from that time his mother drove me home in the Uber, but I don’t say anything about it. He’s told me that his mother works as a nurse at the hospital, so she probably chauffeurs in her free time to make more money.

He thanks me and gets out of the car, before I drive towards the dancing studio.
