9.2 The Ancient One (Part 2)

"Sigh! Young people have no patience at all. Well, let's start with what's inside this cocoon. There is a child inside it. He's currently in the process of awakening his alien race bloodline, and before you ask, yes there are other civilizations out there in the universe other than humans. One of them is the Elfin race. This race, although belonging to one of the most peaceful races, has strong extraordinary powers. Not much is known about them but in ancient records, it's stated that their innate ability allowed them to use the world's energy however they wished." said Ancient One.
"So in that cocoon, there is an alien race child currently going through some kind of awakening?" asked Joanne curiously as she really wanted to know more about other life forms outside earth.
"No, he's not a child of an alien race. He is a human just like you and me." said the Ancient One smiling.
"What do you mean? Didn't you just say that he's going through the process of awakening his alien bloodline? How can he be human then?" Asked Joanne in a confused voice.
Looking at the grayish cocoon whose surface was having more and more cracks with each passing minute the Ancient One said "According to my master, the former Sorcerer Supreme, a colony of the Elfin race, came to earth around 2000 years ago. Running from a dangerous powerful being who wanted to convert their race into his personal army, they found Earth, a backward plane. They settled down here after getting the permission of the Sorcerers at that time. 600 years later no one knew why but all those containing pure Elfin race bloodlines left Earth."
"In those 6 centuries, there were many inter race marriages either due to interests or love creating a mixed bloodline. Those of mixed bloodline also had some affinity with world energy but unlike Elfins they needed some medium that allowed them to use world energy except some powerful ones which even being hybrids were able to use world energy freely to a certain extent. Those hybrids were named wizards and witches."
"Do you know? On earth Currently, there are more than 40% of humans contain Elfin DNA. Though most of them are too diluted with each passing generation." Saying this much the Ancient One stopped as she saw Joanne staring at her in disbelief.
"I am finding it hard to believe all this," said Joanne after a few seconds "This whole thing sounds like some fantasy novel's story. So is this kid a hybrid?"
"Yes, he is. And due to some unknown complications and with the twist of fate he's going through an evolution that will allow him to unlock his Elfin potential. This is a fate that he was teleported to your house in his desperate situation and it's up to you to deal with him. But as I have already said he's special. His whole existence is something incomprehensible. Although I really want to take him away and train him as the next Sorcerer Supreme but due to that contract I am helpless." said Ancient One in a regretful voice.
"Earlier due to some unforeseen situation, there was a High-Level Magical Contract signed between the Sorcerer Supreme of that time and the leader of the Elfin race that implicated the whole race. A magical contract is a special type of contract which is governed by the will of the world. According to that contract, no side with the idea of recruiting or any other ulterior motive was allowed, to come in contact with those who are not adults of the opposite side without the permission of their guardians. And since that contract was a High-level one it can also affect me in many ways."
"There is such a thing as a magical contract in this world?" asked Joanne shocked yet excited.
"There are many things more magical than that contract in this world, Miss Bones. I can see that you're really interested in these things," said Ancient One smirking.
"Of Course! Who wouldn't be interested to know more about such magical things."
"Then Miss Bones, I have an offer for you. You take good care of this child and I'll give you some old records about the world that you can use as reference material for your next bestselling book. What do you think?" asked the Ancient One.
Hearing her question Joanne stopped herself from accepting it. Although the knowledge of the mysteries hidden in this world was amazing and all she had to do was just take care of a child. But here was the main problem. She didn't know anything about the child.
Yeah, she heard all about how this child was a hybrid of human and some human look-alike alien race but that's all she knew about him nothing else so she decided to at least know about what she was really dealing with before answering she asked "Can you tell me more about him? I want to know what I will be dealing with before accepting."
"His situation and the wizarding world are kind of complicated. I will explain in short as going in detail will take too much time. He is an heir of a powerful wizard family but due to him being special Earth's two of the most powerful wizards are after him. One due to the power in his bloodline and the other due to a prophecy. Because of some schemes and manipulation of the former wizard, he was sent away from his parents to his aunt's house where he suffered daily. Before getting teleported here he was being beaten for something he didn't do. His will to escape from that hell hole allowed him to teleport away, and with the work of fate he's here." answered the Ancient One.
"You said he has a family. Don't you think it would be better for him if we can just give him back to his family?"
"No." answered the Ancient One while shaking her head, "It will be dangerous for him as well as his family. It's better if he can disappear from the wizarding world but that's not possible as he has a prophecy to complete and not completing prophecies can sometimes be nasty. So although not forever, if he can avoid the wizarding world for at least 3 years it would be great."
"Urgh! This whole thing is giving me a headache. Just answer me one thing. Will my life be in danger?"
"It'll depend on you. If you get involved in his life too much you will get in many dangerous situations but if you just take care of him for a few years and don't meddle in his affairs you will be safe."
Hearing her Joanne thought for a few seconds before saying "Okay I accept. I will take care of him."
Hearing her reply the Ancient One smiled and said "That's good Miss Bones. To help you I will give you these bracelets. They will protect the wearer from all types of magical tracking. And also these books on ancient languages are for you. Once you finish them I will provide you with ancient records." Saying so, the Ancient One created a small portal in front of her and took out two silver color bracelets with weird engravings on them and a few books, and passed them to Joanne.
Taking the stuff in her hand Joanne asked "I need to learn languages first? Can't you just translate those records?"
"You can joke quite well, Miss Bones. Anyways the little one is about to complete his awakening so I will be taking my leave". As she said that a portal opened in front of the Ancient One and she stepped into it.
Seeing the Ancient One stepping into the portal Joanne wanted to stop her asking how to explain all this to her organization but before she could she heard Ancient One's voice before the portal closed "And don't worry about S.H.I.E.L.D I will take care of them. You don't have to work for them anymore."
