When I hit him with the meat tenderizer hammer, his eyes darkened in rage.

My fear multiplied because it looked like he wouldn't be knocked out, but as he knee-crawled towards me and I took steps back, suddenly, he fainted.

He fell back on the bed and lost consciousness. Blood started pulling from his head.

"Aunt Lani, I'm s-scared." Romeria cried on the bed.

I rushed towards her and lifted her from the bed. I carried on my chest, her arms and legs wrapped tightly around me.

I started out of the room in a run. I was scared that he'll wake and I ran with all my strength. I took the stairs carefully but hurriedly, Romeria shivering in my arms.

When I got to our room, I locked the bedroom door, and laid Ria on the bed. "I'm so sorry, honey. Don't worry, you're alright. It's nothing."

"He's a bad man." She cried, her lips wobbling.
