The Night Six Years Ago

We stayed at Mike's until evening that day. Millie was too tired from playing. She kept wandering around like a butterfly, so when we got home, she went to bed immediately.

It was rare for me to have the whole night to myself. I poured myself a cup of my mother's special milk tea and sat down in the deck chair on the balcony to enjoy this rare break.

But the memory hit me again.

That night, it was our crazy graduation party. Mike, who was on break at home, was determined to provide us with the venue, so we went to his villa. There were lights, music, beer, cigars, and everyone partied like crazy. I was the outcast since I was young. I was afraid of being alone when it was quiet, and I would always pull away at lively gatherings and watch all of this from afar, as if I wasn't involved. That day was no exception. I snuck out and went to my favorite lake to get some air.
