EPISODE 3: A DAY BEFORE WORK-DAY

**TANNER**

I gently shut the curtains of my living room while sipping a glass of wine. It's Sunday, it has always meant rest day. Not always, I conceded.

Seven years ago, I had a wife and a child. Today, I would have been taking them out.

I signed deeply and pained at the thought of that. I might have faced my past and years might have passed, but it's never easy. I never got over their death. I never think I will.

I just came to terms with the painful fact that they are no more.

My phone started ringing and, of course my mother was calling. She seemed to be hell bent on playing matchmaker slash cupid. Heaven knows what she has in store for me this time.

Mother means well, but she just doesn't understand. It's so hard for me to just pick up with another woman. And mother doesn't know much about Jasamina.

She only knew that I helped a woman and her child in the streets.

"Hello, mother." I said, waiting for her response.
