I Change My Mind

"Do you think he's mad?"

"Why would he?"

Pete unbuckled his seatbelt and didn't wait for Lilly to do the same. He got out of the driver's seat and went to his sleeping quarter without giving her a glance.

To say that she was shocked was an understatement. She never imagined Pete would throw her under the bus just like that!

She got out of the car, taking her sweet time, talking to herself in her head that she didn't do anything for Matthew to get mad. Hugging Pete was something that has no malice. She had known him all her life and she no longer treated him as an employee but as a friend and an older brother.

However, seeing her husband watching her from the porch, she could not help but worry that he would misunderstand what he saw.

"Hello," she pulled an awkward smile as she greeted him.
