"The coast is clear, let's go dagger." I say in a low voice, before doing an amazing summersault while passing from behind one column to another. Turning back to see dagger, I find her waiting behind the column I just jumped from.
As I nod in her direction, she proceeds to roll across the floor in an attempt to copy my summersault, though hers was poorly executed... not even close in terms of quality to mine.
"Where to now, sword?" she asks me.
"Now we move on to the treasure vault, also known as the snack room." I reply while moving to the next column. Once she arrives next to me I begin to explain the next stage of the plan.
"Here is where things get tricky." I say seriously. "We must pass the pit of monsters, also known as the place where they are recording the commercial, afterwards we must avoid the hellhounds, a.k.a. the group of assistants and people from the studio. Once we make our way through this two places, we will be clear to the treasure vault."
"I see... very well then, let's go!" exclaimed dagger, finally getting into the adventure mood.
While making our way through the hallways, I can't help but think about how nice it is to have someone with nonsensical amounts of energy as well, neither one of us has the ability to focus on anything for more than a few minutes so she already forgot about what her father said and understood the importance of the mission we are carrying out.
"We are here...our first obstacle." I say in a low voice while looking at where they are recording. There are a lot of cameras in place and many people moving around, luckily everyone is focused on our parents so they don't pay much attention to their surroundings... classic rookie mistake, it is precisely because of that that our robbery will be carried out without trouble.
"Are you sure they won't catch us sword?" asks Pip- I mean dagger in a low voice.
"Yes I am, don't worry I am basically a pro at this." I say while crouching down. "All we need to do is move fast and silently." as soon as I finish saying that, I begin running through the room while keeping by body as close to the ground as possible. Once I successfully arrive at the other end of the room and enter the corridor, I look back to see dagger doing the same as me... I am quite proud to be honest. She may be a kid but clearly she has potential.
"Huff, I am a bit tired." she says while breathing rapidly.
"Don't worry about it, you simply are relieved and the adrenaline is getting out of your system." I explain her.
"The what?"
"The adrenaline... don't worry about it. Now we need to move to our second and last obstacle, the hellhounds!" I say as I begin walking through the corridor and up the stairs.
"Okey. By the way... how do you know that the snack room is there?" asks dagger.
"Well it is because I took a glimpse at the map the chief hellhound, a.k.a. Hanna, had in her hands and there was a room marked with a circle, indicating it is the most important room here. I have watched enough pirate movies to know that the marked place in a map is where the treasure is, so it is obvious that the room we are heading to contains the treasure vault, and since there is nothing more valuable than snacks... it must be the snack room!" I explain while we continue going up the stairs.
"I see... it makes sense!" replies dagger excitedly.
"Of course it does, now all we have to do is get our hands on those snacks and return without getting in trouble. It is the perfect plan!" I continue saying.
Once we arrive at the end of the stairs, we are met by a long corridor with several doors.
"Okey, one of this doors contains the room of hellhounds and another one has the vault. The one on the left has the hellhounds so we must avoid that one." I say.
As we start making our way through the straight corridor, I start wondering how many snacks will there be in the vault... there must be a lot since there are also many people here.
"This one right?" asks dagger while pointing at the door in front of us.
"Indeed... this one it is." I reply.
Getting on the tip of my fingers and stretching my arm as high as possible, I finally reach the doorknob and open the door, however what greeted us was a scene out of a nightmare. Countless hellhounds looked in our direction as soon as the door opened and, since my arms were tiny and I barely managed to reach the doorknob to open it, I couldn't close the door immediately, giving enough time to the chief hellhound to rush over, her face indicating she was ready to devour us.
"Run!" I scream while grabbing Piper's hand. "The mission is a failure we need to get out of he-" my words however were interrupted by a hand grabbing my shirt, preventing me from going any further.
"Didn't I tell you to stay in the room?" asked a pretty angry chief of hellhou- I mean Hanna.
"Well yes, but I told you I wouldn't so I don't see your point." I reply while pouting.
Two veins popped on her forehead while a strained smile was formed with her lips. "What are you doing here?" she asked, clearly changing the topic after recognising my superiority.
"We came for the snack room." replied Piper while looking at the floor, small tears forming on the corners of her eyes.
"The snack room?" asked a confused Hanna.
"Yes! I saw on the map you were carrying earlier a room marked with a circle, it is obvious that place hold the snacks since snacks are the most valuable treasures. It was in front of the hellhound pit, but that must have been a fake map right! That's why the room in the right was the pit of hellhounds and not the treasure room. You expected me to want to take the treasures and played me... kuhuhu, as expected of the chief of hellhounds." I explain.
"Of course you would be mistaken! Your mother told me you were dyslexic so you must have confused the directions of the room in the map! Also, that 'pit of hellhounds' you are talking about is the resting room! And the marked room was a room that will be remodelled! There is no such nonsense as a 'snack room'." started saying the chief of the hellhounds, showing her demonic colours through her angry words. "Ughhh, now let me take you two brats back to the room." said Hanna angrily while muttering something about being an assistant and not a babysitter.
"What about the snacks?" I ask, putting on a pitiful expression with the corrections my mom gave me this morning.
"There are no snacks!"
