"So... what do we do now?" asked Annabeth while looking at me.
"I don't know. You are usually the one who comes up with the plans smart girl." I reply. I am slightly ashamed to admit it, but Annabeth is way smarter than me, at least at this types of things. Planning and talking are like a second nature to her and as time has passed and she has gotten a bit more experience, those plans have gotten substantially better.
"Hmm, maybe sneak in and hide in one of the offices? Once a doctor enters we can threaten him to see your injuries." said Annabeth.
"I... I honestly don't have a better idea. They will call someone regardless of what we do or say so threatening them might at least buy us time. Though it might also make the police search for us with more effort." I reply.
"Yeah I thought of that, but honestly I don't have a better idea if we want a doctor to check on you, which is what we are here for." continued Annabeth.
"Well then, time to put on a show." I say as we both enter the hospital. Up until now we had been waiting in front of the hospital debating in order to pass time and right now is the best moment to go, 4am exactly. Doctors should be tired enough to listen to our threats and there won't be many people here so there is honestly no better time, besides if they were to call the police, I am sure the process itself might be slower than usual because of the time. Annabeth's ideas are pretty good.
Sneaking to the stairs while the nurses at the front desk were distracted, we started making our way upwards until we realised a small but very critical detail... we had no clue which office we should go to. Reading the signs was.. well it wasn't possible, and neither was asking someone else, so we had to stay in the stairs for a moment to think.
"How about we just enter any office that is still open in the second floor and leave it at that?" I asked.
"Sigh, I guess it is a good idea, ugh how could I forget such important details?" Annabeth asked herself while frustration was evident in her voice.
"Hahaha, don't worry about it now, you have gotten much better at the whole planning thing, besides there is nothing we could have done even if we knew in advance." I reply trying to comfort her.
Exiting the stairs on the second floor after making sure there was no one in the hallway at the moment, we started running through it while checking the doors to see if there was an open one. After finding an open door we entered, only to find ourselves face to face with a doctor currently writing something on a notebook. The plan was to wait for someone to get in after we were already there, this is... troublesome.
"May I help you?" asked the doctor, raising his head from the notebook only to find two little girls, two little girls with ragged clothes and dirty appearances, two little girls... with knifes! "Those aren't toys you know?" said the doctor while looking at the knifes they were holding. He was considering calling security, but something about seeing two little girls so ready to fight felt weird with him.
"We know, and unless you want us to prove you that we do know you should listen to us." said one of the two girls.
"I see... I could call security you know?" said the doctor with a calm expression.
"You could, but would they get here before you die or after?" said the other girl, one with fierce grey eyes.
The doctor thought for a moment about wether to ask were their parents were, but that thought was immediately scrapped off. If two little girls are threatening to kill someone while wearing clearly overused clothes, their parents couldn't really be worth mentioning right?
"So... what do you two want?" asked the doctor, putting his notebook away and focusing his attention on them. He immediately started noticing things, like the small scars both had on their faces or how one of them was putting too much pressure on her left side, indicating she must have hurt her right leg.
"I want you to check a wound on her." said the girl with the grey eyes while pointing in the other girl's direction.
"A wound? Well first of all there is a procedure for this type of things, depending on how serious the wound is or it's location, I might not even be qualified to treat it." said the doctor. "Secondly, if there is a wound that requires treatment you could just go to the front desk and say that, they wouldn't kick you out of the hospital even if you can't afford it."
"I don't care about that, just check her." continued the girl with grey eyes.
"Sigh, okey then. I suppose the injury is in the leg?" said the doctor while focusing most of his attention on the girl with deep blue eyes.
"The leg?" asked the girl with grey eyes while looking in the other girl's direction.
"No, it is in the shoulder." said the girl with blue eyes while taking off her coat.
"Are you sure there is nothing in your leg?" asked the doctor, he had decades of experience and it was pretty obvious to him that the girl had something in the leg which prevented her from putting too much pressure on it.
"Hey! We are not talking about the leg now so stop it already! Just check my shoulder and shut up." replied the girl angrily while taking off her shirt, revealing a bandaged shoulder.
"What is wrong with your leg?" asked the other girl.
"Nothing. Look I just got hit on it on our last fight and it was been hurting a bit, but it is nothing to be concerned about. It is just a slight bruise." replied the girl.
"Well... ignoring the absurd amount of things that are wrong with what you said just now, I think I should also take a look at that. I mean you are already threatening me to see you so you might as well make the most out if it right?" said the doctor while getting closer to the blue-eyes girl, singling her to take a sit on the stretcher.
"Hey! I said stop it. Also... yes we will be doing that so you will have to take a look at both of us." said the blue-eyed girl. "And give us what is in your wallet."
