"Are you sure that putting someone as violent as him in charge of her is a good idea?" asked the god next to me while sipping a bit of Diet Coke.
"Yes." I replied, staring at the night's sky. "He may appear to be violent, but he is that way simply because he believes in the survival of the fittest. No one is better than him to help her continue surviving."
"Huh, whatever." said Dionysus while shrugging his shoulders. "I don't care or anything, but it can backfire very easily. She could develop rather violent tendencies, and you know that."
As soon as he finished speaking, he disappeared, making me sigh.
"Oh but you do seem to care, Dionysus." I muttered. "Though you always did have a soft spot for women who suffered a lot, so it isn't that surprising."
Soon, a young demigod appeared next to me. "What do you need, director?"
"Could you please tell Gleeson Hedge to come here? There is something I need to talk with him."
"Sure." replied the child of Athena before leaving.
"Sigh, let's see how much he can help her before leaving for his next mission." I muttered.
I needed him to take care of Christina, to help her already erratic mental state heal. I will leave her in his care for a year or so before sending him to Arizona.

"So?" asked the director of the camp, Chiron, while looking at me. "Can you take care of her?"
"Take care of her? Who do you think I am?" I asked back in an offended tone. "Of course I can take care of some brat! Just tell me where she is and I will make a warrior out of her."
"This one is a bit different than usual, Gleeson." he said in a sad tone. "She has been through more than most and she definitely didn't come out unscathed. I need you to help her heal, to help her move on."
"Hmph! Do you forget my incomparable teaching capabilities?" I asked back. "Of course I can do that! Just tell me who it is and I will show them the power of a bat to solve their problems!"
"Her name is Christina." replied Chiron with a small smile. "She hasn't been claimed, but from what her friends told us, she is most likely a child of Hephaestus, though I find it quite strange."
"Hmm, wouldn't that mean she will spend her time cooped up in a cave like all the other children of Hephaestus?" I asked, unamused. "How am I supposed to teach one of those tinkerer brats who never have any interest in fighting! I swear, they end up spending their entire days building gadgets and never go outside!"
"Hahaha, well... they could indeed use a bit more of outside time." replied Chiron, chuckling softly. "But do keep in mind that I said we don't know who her godly parent is. Honestly, from the description of how she was before the... accident, she stroke me more as a child of Athena or a child of Hermes, heck even a child of Aphrodite with how pretty she is, but for some reason her friends are pretty convinced she is a child of Hephaestus."
"Huh, those are some pretty different gods you mentioned." I said with a raised eyebrow. "By Pan's name, how does a kid show characteristics of such different gods? I mean, a child of Hephaestus would definitely not be pretty, and as much as people like to compare them, children of Hephaestus and Athena are nothing alike. Then, children of Athena and Aphrodite are basically opposite poles, children of Hermes and Hephaestus are opposite poles, and even children of Hephaestus and Aphrodite are opposite poles."
"Trust me, i am perfectly aware of that." he said with a sigh while shaking his head. "But I have no answer. All we can do is wait until she gets claimed, in the meantime just make up your own mind about her."
Nodding, I turned around to leave, dragging my bat across the floor with a puffed chest. It was only natural that the director would choose me to train a cupcake in need of help after all!
"One last thing, Gleeson." said Chiron, making me look at him. "According to our camp director, she was cursed, so her head isn't alright. Do your best helping her, okey?"
A small smile formed on the corner of my lips as I turned around.
"Hmph, there is nothing to be concerned about." I said in a low tone, walking away. "I am the ultimate protector for a reason!"

Both Luke and Cassius stared at me expectantly while I tried to get used to the new feeling of having a pair of metal arms.
"< So? >" asked Thalia, looking at me with an excited expression. "< How do they feel? >"
Walking to the table next to us, I slowly moved my arms and carefully grabbed a screw-driver Cassius had, before placing it back down.
"They are nice." I said in an emotionless tone.
"< That's great! >" replied Thalia, waling next to me and looking at the things in the table. "< Now, how about you try the dagger inside the arm? >"
Cassius sighed in relief while Luke smiled widely.
"That's great Chris!" said Luke excitedly. "We will have to train a bit for you to get used to them, but everything will work out just fine."
I stared at Luke and then at Thalia, unsure of who to answer. After a few seconds of silence, I decided to reply to neither of them and instead continued to grab things from the table, slowly getting used to the different weights and shapes.
It felt surprisingly natural using this new arms, this metal pieces. It was no natural in fact that it made me wonder if perhaps my father had anteing to do with it, however that thought went away as soon as it came thanks to Thalia.
"< If your father cared enough to help you get used to them, then he wouldn't have made you loose your arms in the first place. >" she said angrily. "< You are good at using them because you are great, alright? Not because some random guy who never helped us suddenly decided to give you a blessing! >"
She was right, unbearably right, but even then...
"< He hasn't even claimed you! >" exclaimed Thalia loudly, making my eyes widen slightly.
I hadn't been paying attention to pretty much anything since we arrived, my mind only held together by Thalia's words as she helped me get through the nightmares, and once again... she was right.
"< Don't you get it Chris? >" she said in a soothing tone while getting closer to me, pulling me into her embrace. "< I am all you have, no one else can be trusted... >"
