Chapter Two:

"Nicholas Robert, come down this instant!" His mum yelled.

He has been trying tirelessly to stay away from his parents.

Today happened to be his unlucky day because they caught up with him. And, he knew that his mum would never come alone.

Her partner in crime, his dad, must be lurking around her. Both of them made love easy. They have been together for thirty years, and

Nicholas was their only child. Of course, all attention would be on him.

Sometimes, it was simply impossible to make them understand that he was wealthy and of age, and could take care of himself.

"Son, we know that you are up there." his dad bestowed.

Grumbling, he got out of his king-sized bed and proceeded to where they were, in his pyjamas.

"My lovely parents, to what do I owe this early morning visit?" he asked, kissing his mum on her cheek and hugging his dad.

Nicholas Robert was filthy wealthy, twenty-five years, and handsome if you will add that. But to his parents, he was still their baby boy and nothing more. Both his parents were still young.

His mum was forty-five and his dad was fifty, but they didn't look like it. Nicholas's mum, Mrs. Emily Robert, was a famous model until her retirement two years ago.

Pretty, brunette and slender. She was an amazing mother and wife.

Mr. Chris Robert, Nicholas's father, was someone who the world 'wealthy' would be an insult to use on.

The man worked as the CEO of all his companies until he handed them over to Nicholas about five years ago, retiring to enjoy and travel around the world with his wife. Nicholas got all the features of Chris except the jet-black eyes, which he got from his mother.

Chris was tall, well-built, handsome, and confident.

"Sit, son," his dad said while helping his wife to equally sit.

"Oh, please. You, too, should get a room," Nicholas joked, running his hands through his hair.

"Baby," his mum started. Whenever she starts like this, Nicholas knew the direction she was headed. "Your father, and me, are worried about you. With all your wealth and power, there's still no woman or man…"

"Mum. For the record, I am not gay."

"Okay, I just wanted you to be proud of your preference. We don't mind. And, we will always support your decisions."

"I don't have the time for relationships, my lovely parent."

"Son, you need to take this seriously. No matter how much money you accumulate, if there's no one to make you happy, warm your bed, take care of you when you are sick and have your little ones, that money turns into sadness. No amount of money made would be equivalent to family."

"I hear you both. When I find the right person, I'll let you know."

"No, we are not letting you decide when to find the right person. We have given you the time enough." Getting a tissue from her purse, "I want to see my grandchildren before I die."

"Mum, stop being dramatic. It won't work on me this time."

His mum knew that he loved and cherished her so much, and she crying would make him do whatever she wanted.

So, she always used that technique to get him to do whatever she desired.

Cleaning her eyes, "okay, you have got me. Son, I am worried about you, and it is causing me to age rapidly. Having a woman here would make me worry less."

"I am fine."

"You don't look fine to me, son. Have you been sleeping properly, lately?"

"Yes, dad," he lied. If Nicholas didn't do so, they would never give up on the issue of him finding a woman. "The drugs are helping a lot."

"But still, you need emotional and sexual attention."

"Dad. Mom! I will not discuss that aspect of my life with you both. I love you both dearly, but, I won't."

"There's nothing to be embarrassed about. After all, we are all adults," his mum said sarcastically.

"Nice try, parents." Standing to his feet, "I have to go get ready for work. It was lovely seeing you both."

"Son, sit. We are not finished. Don't try to run away from this conversation."

"I am not."

"Then, sit," his dad said.

"Whatever you say, dad."

Adjusting in her seat, "I have an idea." his mum always came up with the craziest ideas in the universe.

She was so….imaginative, he would say. "How about you do a date fiesta."

"What does that even mean, mum?"

"Put out words that you are looking for a dating candidate. Go on numerous dates with different women and access them. You must find one person out of all of them."

"Okay, I'll."

"You will?" His parents echoed.

"Yes, I will," he said with a big grin plastered on his face.

This was going to be way easy to do. He was only doing this to please his parents. What they didn't know was that no woman would genuinely want to go on a date with Nicholas Robert, except the ones after his money. Wealthy and handsome, yes. Kind and patient, no.

People that worked for him hated him. They all thought he shared the throne with the devil.

So, it spread fear into the hearts of men and women. No one would go on this date with him.

"Are you serious? You are not pulling my legs?"

"Not at all, mum. Thank you for the bright idea. I'll have my assistant put out the word that I am looking for a worthy date." That was a lie he told to encourage himself.

Nicholas was messed up and obviously, no woman would want to be with a messed up guy.

His preference for women until now has never been a thing to worry about. But, at this moment, he began to think about what he wanted in a woman.

Was it just bang and fuck off? Or, did he want more?

Someone who will warm his bed and heart, and, bring peace to his chaos.

He wanted all of it. A person who was not crawling into his bed just to gain access to his wealth and power.

He needed a genuine girl with a hint of messed up in her.

"That was, too, easy," his dad said.

"I have to go get ready for work. Love you both. Thanks, mum," he kissed her on the cheeks and left them.

Both of them stared at him with wide eyes and opened mouths as he walked up the foyer. He couldn't help but smile.

He did take them by surprise. Oh, he has a lot of surprises up his sleeves for the women yet to come.
