Chapter Twenty

Talia's POV:

I woke up with a pounding headache and a queasy stomach. Everywhere was dark, and I couldn't see a thing. For a second, my memory was blurry, and I couldn't remember what happened. I wasn't suffering from a hangover. Then, why couldn't remember? I took a pause, breathing in repeatedly, and then my mind cleared.

Events of what happened came rushing like an impatient stream. I remembered how everything was going perfectly well until… Jake! Oh my God, where is Jake? What happened to us? Where am I? I was so terrified that I began hyperventilating. I couldn't breathe.

My chest tightened, the air shutting off. My lungs struggled to get oxygen into them. The blood ceased rushing into my head, and the room began rotating. Have I been trafficked? No. No. No. As I tried to utter a word, I slumped and darkness took over.
