Chapter Forty-Four

Talia's POV:

"Come," he shut the door behind me and held out his hand. We walked back, away from my escape unit.

The house was very quiet you could hear a pin drop. We entered the dining room about fifteen people were wearing black suits, they all looked so muscled. They must be the guards he was talking about. They were sitting around a big table with a white table cloth and plates with food. They were on the edge of eating their food, but were waiting for Nicholas, I guess. Or, me? I didn't think it was ever me.

"I was in the middle of something, but had to leave it to tame a certain wild cat. Do you think you can behave until breakfast is over with my men?"

Again, I nodded, speechless. "I thought you said you weren't hungry yet," I mumbled.

"Are you disappointed that I didn't eat your food?"

I gave no response.

"Sit," he ordered, ignoring the food topic.
